Bonfire Burning Bright with Aer

Post by LovelyBones »

Bonnfire hated trainers. Hated how they were trapped in a ball when they weren't needed, and hated how that same ball wasn't able to be unbound to them, thanks to their ex-trainer having abandoned them because they were weak, and even after Officer Jenny had done everything she could, their ex-trainer wasn't found. The fact the pokeball they were in was a bootleg was even more concerning-- at least the trainers and caretakers at the shelter Bonnfire was in broke the damned thing, as it was no longer considered safe. But, breaking or no, it meant they were never able to be recaptured again.... maybe it was for the best. Besides, they didn't want to be abandoned again, be used against bigger pokemon that were clearly too strong for them to handle....

To think they still had tears to shed, still felt hurt after a month of being at the shelter was surprising. They didn't let anyone close-- he'd always spit weak embers at the people that would try to get close, throw things if anything was in reach. At least the humans understood that they were angry, hurting-- none of them tried to push their limits further than what would earn their tiny outbursts. The Charcadet would typically sit in a small, crowded corner, hugging their knees as they would think over everything that lead to them being here. Why were they caught if they were so easily abandoned? Why were they caught in a bad ball? And why can't they just let them go back to the wild? They'd rather be there than constantly being looked on in pity by humans they didn't trust.

They overheard one day that there was an adoption event coming up, and they seethed at the thought. Even if someone did want them, they wouldn't want to go-- they'd burn them before they'd get far!! They'll have to release them, then!! No one would want a violent pokemon-- .... though, would they be strong enough to even be able to cause enough damage for that? What if the new trainer would build them up, just to abandon them like the last one did? Bonnfire's little eyes welled with tears, their small hands gripping at their knees tightly as they tried not to let the tears fall. They can't be weak, or be seen as weak, or they'll never get out of here.
