Well, Bakugou was definitely glad that the other girl hadn't seen her blush, mostly to save the blonde some embarrassment here. She hurried to strip down to her underwear to attempt to catch up with Eijiro, but by the time she had made it to the tide, the redhead was already wading out to waist deep water. Now, Bakugou had never been much of a swimmer, but she did remember how good Kirishima had always been at it. Which is why it didn't surprise her when the other went under, leaving Bakugou to wade out near where Kirishima had went under.
"Alright, I know you didn't just bring my ass out here to disappear on me Kirishima." She spoke out loudly, glancing around to see where the fuck her friend had gone. "This isn't fucking fun- shit!" She yelled as she was suddenly pulled under by something, eyes shut tight as she was pulled underneath the water.
Her hands were grabbed by someone as she opened her eyes, the red hues widening at what exactly she saw in front of her. Kirishima was a- no. No fucking way. This was a joke, right? She couldn't help but open her mouth, forgetting for a brief moment that she wasn't above the water, purely shocked by what she was being shown.
Touching Kirishima's tail took whatever words she had in her mind that she wanted to say, running her fingers over the scales in genuine wonder. She noticed Kirishima's attention being on her as Bakugou touched her tail, looking back up to the redhead before she was having to swim back up to the surface for air.
The blonde coughed a few times before she was able to catch her breath, running a hand through her hair as she took a second to process what the fuck just happened. She was dreaming, she had to be, there was no way this was real. "What...the fuck was that shit.." Bakugou exhaled, looking back in the water for Kirishima to come up.

There was just something so... intimate about this. Something in the way Katsuki looked so awestruck, and feeling the fingers touch her scales, it caused them to flutter a small bit wherever she touched. It had her exhaling a shaky breath, face flushing a small bit. In the water, the sunlight from above made Katsuki's hair practically glow, and she felt her heart flutter in her chest. Yeah... she liked her a lot more than she had thought.
Releasing Katsuki's wrists, she allowed her to go back up to the surface, quick to join her with her eyes peeking above the water. She laughed a small bit as she lifts her head out of the water more, her hair flattening quite a bit.
"I figured it out around the time I turned sixteen. Swam too far out and instead of drowning I turned into, well, this!" She swims a circle around Katsuki. "It's not like I kept it from you, I wanted to tell you as soon as possible, but I had no way of contacting you. And the mainland is way too big for me to even attempt at searching for you on foot." She flushed a small bit, stopping in front of her to tuck some loose hair from her face. "Turns out I'm half mermaid or whatever. Tried looking for more but there's no one. And I've swam a lot over the years to look. Found a lot of lost ships and abandoned submarines, though, either wrecked or floating around." She sighed a small bit, turning her head toward the beach.
"I was abandoned when I was a baby, wrapped in a swaddle of sea-weed. I'm.. not really sure why, and my family doesn't know I'm like this. They only told me I was adopted when I asked them, so.. I'm not really sure what to make of it all." She glanced to Katsuki, offering a small smile. "I'm glad to have you back, though. I really missed you." She can't help but press forward and wrap her arms around the blond, tucking her face into her shoulder. "I'm glad you're safe and alive.."

The blonde couldn't keep her eyes off of Kirishima as she swam, completely in awe of what was even happening. Her childhood friend is half mermaid and she never even knew about it? That was certainly something to find out within the first hour of reuniting. She flushed at noticing the way that Kirishima's hair somehow still looked just as pretty soaking wet, but pinpointed it down to her just liking the other girl a hell of a lot more than she thought she did. Now that was something to figure out in the first hour of meeting back up.
"So there's..no one else like you that you know about? That's fucked, I'm sorry. But that's..youre- god what the fuck. I'm just trying to wrap my fucking head around all this. Not in a bad way though- you're cool as fuck, but shit Kirishima. " She dipped back under for a few seconds to catch another glimpse of her tail, wanting to make sure this was actually real before she came back up.
"I mean technically you're still adopted? Just without all the lengthy paperwork I guess." Bakugou paused for a moment as Kirishima wrapped her arms around her, taking a second before she reciprocated the hug. "Glad to have you back too. I actually really missed you, and I even have all the pictures we took from back then. I'm glad you're not dead or whatever, I dunno what I would've done if you weren't even here."
