As Shinsou read Mic's assurances, his shoulders visibly relaxed. It felt like a small bit of the burden had been lifted as he considered that this might not be the rest of his life. He reached out for the board and write out a careful observation. As he was writing, the nurse from before came back in holding a clipboard of papers topped with a pen. She regarded Shinsou with a smile before dressing Hizashi.

"I have the release papers here, as well as papers detailing the medications that we are prescribing. They can be picked up at the pharmacy before you all two leave and they should already be ready. It's all detailed in the paperwork, but the medications are primarily for any potential anxiety and panic attacks and should only be taken as needed, a twice daily medication to help with the inevitable side effects of his damaged ears, and another as needed medication for any lingering pain once his system flushes out of the IV. Any questions?"

Shinsou had already erased what he was writing and had the board ready for Mic to take, postponing the conversation for now.

.....

"He watched on as the board was taken and written on only to be distracted by the nurse. He smiled to them, taking the papers and giving them a quick read. Everything looked to be in order so he signed in all the places he needed to before taking the copies and handing back the originals needed. As Shinsou was currently occupying the white board, he was about to croak out a very quiet response when he found the board being offered and blank at that. Hadn't Hitoshi written something? Oh well, he would find out in a moment.

Taking it with a thankful smile, he wrote and held it up to the nurse with a simple. "Thank you and the doctor for your hard work. I'll make sure he's well taken care of." With that, he was writing a new message to Shinsou this time and handing the board back to the boy and stood himself back up. "You were saying?" Though he felt guilt about it, he knew there was little choice at that moment. He leaned down, offered an apologetic smile, then picked the boy up like a bride and transferred him to the chair. Needless to say there was no need for him to do more than move him, however, leaving him to get comfortable and get his feet up onto the stirrups.

Once settled, he got them moving, pushing the chair along and keeping an eye out for the message he'd been about to ask earlier. He honestly hoped their little visit to the cafe would do him some good. Sometimes all you needed to feel better when feeling particularly down was to surround yourself with friendly furry friends.

.....

Vertigo hit him again as he was picked up and moved, and he clenched his eyes closed shut tight to try and combat it. The fact it was happening even when he wasn't standing on his own left a bitter taste in his mouth. It passed almost as soon as he was sitting this time, however, so he was able to slowly open his eyes once more. An idea was dawning on him that would be so much less cumbersome than the whiteboard and marker method, at least between the two of them. He didn't even care that it might be less than appropriate between a student and a teacher. He took a moment to scribble the thought down, then held it up for Yamada to read.

'We should text. It will be easier.' He thought that his cellphone should have been with his stuff and he wondered at just how many notifications he would have. He actually looked forward to it. That was one thing about class 1-A that he hadn't really anticipated. One among many things, that is. They were all just so friendly, even Bakugo in his own way.

He tried not to pay too much attention to the hospital as it rolled on by. He didn't like hospitals on the best of days, and now without hearing all the bustle and talking and beeps from every room, it was somehow more eerie and almost felt like a strange disconnected dream.

.....

He could see that the vertigo was getting him and he felt guilty for that, but it couldn't be helped. Hopefully, he wouldn't feel too awful for too much longer. Once he was sure Shinsou had settled into the chair with his feet comfortably up, he started to wheel them out to go get his belongings as well as his medications. He peeked down when the board was held up then smiled. He'd thought of this, of course, but he hadn't wanted to assume that Shinsou would be comfortable sharing his personal number with him. He pulled his phone out of his back pocket and then started to navigate through his phone using only one hand, the other continuing to steer the chair as they walked.

Soon enough, he was offering the phone to the boy and there was an 'add contact' screen with the usual fields to fill in as Shinsou saw fit. While he did this, he rolled up to the nurse's desk and using the whiteboard explained who they were and that they needed the teen's belongings, showing the paperwork as proof that he was currently under his care. The nurse politely asked them to wait a moment while they fetched his thing, reaching a hand to take the phone back with the new saved contact.

Sure enough, he sent the new number a text before it even reached them. "Didn't want to ask for your number if you didn't want to share. I know I'm your English teacher and all, but that doesn't mean you're cool with sharing something like that, ya know?" He ended the message with an emoji with a smile that was wearing sunglasses. Not long after, he was accepting the boy's things and handing them to him so he could check his phone while he wheeled him to the pharmacy to get him his meds.

.....

Shinsou added himself to the offered phone, putting in his name as First Name: Mindjack, Last name: ...Just the purple devil emoji. Then, he passed it back up to Mic. He found that one bonus to all of this was that he could ignore conversations now and not feel or seem like a complete asshole. The conversation didn't interest him, so why should he even try? This worked well when people probably wouldn't even want to talk to him in the first place due to mankind's innate sense of avoiding those who were different and his face was covered in bandages.

When he found his things in his lap, he went right for his phone, luckily off. Aizawa had him turn it off when they were one on one training and it still had juice in it. Naturally, there were about a thousand texts and three thousand other notifications that he cleared without even thinking about it. He would get to those in just a minute. The important ones at least.

He texted back, "You're taking me to a cat cafe. I think we are past just the student teacher thing. Does this count as preferential treatment?"
