It was finally over and they'd passed! Of course, they had! Bakugou had never doubted them and now they were officially a pack! When the Sept had paired him up with Kaminari, Sero, Ashido, and Todoroki, he'd had his doubts, but once they'd set off they had clicked into place and were as tightly knit as one could hope to be upon their return. They had been sent to reclaim an abandoned Cairn and things had gotten wildly out of hand. Despite this, they had succeeded and without having to call for backup in spite of things having suddenly gotten much more dangerous than expected. They'd proven themselves and returned as not only full members of their tribes, but acknowledged as adults and not just pups.
They celebrated together with their Sept under the light of the full moon, Katsuki's phase, something he swelled with pride about. When dawn broke things were so much more intimate than he expected them to be. He'd slept with his pack, as he would any time they came to the Cairn, and had willingly cooked breakfast for them. Together they ate, sitting close and exchanging light touches and quiet words in the soft morning light. He felt more whole than he had his entire life... Once they were fed and had gathered their things, they had taken their leave together, each breaking off with warm goodbyes to return to their human lives. Despite the fact they had only been gone for a couple of weeks, it felt so strange to return to civilization... He was less than happy to have to return home to his mother, but he knew it was a final stop he'd have to make before going to visit his boyfriend. Ugh... At least he could have a nice bath before heading over while he was here.
Meanwhile, Kirishima had spent the last two weeks with his roommate. Katsuki had been the one to introduce him to his childhood friend, if reluctantly and the two of them had hit it off well enough to decide to live together. He'd actually been trying to convince Bakugou to be his roommate, but it seemed he wasn't ready to actually move in despite the fact they'd been dating for a while. He'd missed his boyfriend, but he'd known he was going to go on some sort of trip for a couple of weeks and so he and Izuku had planned accordingly. What he hadn't expected was for the crush he'd been trying to ignore to grow in that time. The guilt ate at him, particularly as he'd caught the other boy looking at him the same way. What was he supposed to do...? He supposed he would have to talk to Katsuki about it first, but that was a hell of a conversation and he wasn't looking forward to it.
They'd spent the last couple of weeks in each other's company, watching movies and playing games mostly, and he'd noticed that Izuku's schedule seemed to have changed. While normally he was an early riser, even if he was a bit of a night owl, he'd started sleeping in more and more. He'd finally confronted him about it when he'd started sleeping all day and being up all night, but let it go when in a half panic the greenette had told him he'd gotten a new job was all and it was an overnight shift. That was enough to get him to relax and he didn't question things further. He looked at the time and smiled softly. It was almost 7pm and Katsuki would be coming here for dinner. He'd better get Izuku up.
He made his way over to his roommate's door, gently opening it and peeking inside. He found Izuku contently sleeping away, black-out curtains drawn to keep the room nice and dark. Those were nice... He should really ask him where he'd gotten those so he could get himself a pair for his own window. Creeping over, he hesitated, simply looking at him. He was so cute... And he looked so peaceful and sweet as he slept. Izuku was well known for his baby face and he looked even younger when he was all relaxed like he was now. So cute... Without thinking, he very carefully sat himself down on the edge of the bed next to the greenette and just watched him sleep for a little bit. A part of his mind wondered if that was creepy, but he tried to ignore both it and the way his heart rate picked up a little.
The peaceful moment couldn't last though... Katsuki would be here soon and they should be ready for that. Reaching out, he gently rubbed the other's side to try and rouse him. "Hey, Midoriya-kun. Time to get up. Sorry for waking you, but Katsuki's gonna be here soon, ya know?" Should he have chosen to rub his side like that? Maybe he should have shaken his shoulder... What would be more normal, wouldn't it? Too late, he supposed... This probably would feel nicer anyway. Without thinking he reached out and brushed some green curls out of his friend's eyes. "Hey, Midoriya...? You up?"

Izuku scrunched his little nose as he pulled the blanket clenched between his fingers up to his face. He could’ve sworn he felt someone touching him and a faint voice speaking, but maybe that was in his dream. He was still tired as he had adopted an unusual sleep schedule ever since meeting Yagi-san at the rally a few weeks ago, or so, where Yagi-san took an interest in Izuku’s Biotechnological research. Izuku, being more than happy to share his notes and findings, attached to the older man surprisingly quick, looking up to the blonde as a mentor of sorts. Izuku had been attending various events with the older man that took place at night—growing his academic network.
Nevertheless, Izuku did not want to wake up. That is until he registered the voice he thought he heard to belong to his roommate, Kirishima. Did this mean that Kirishima was touching him? A little whine escaped between his lips as he blinked his eyes open to the most wonderful sight. A chiseled jaw, deep alluring eyes, and how could he not mention that smile. Kirishima was utterly beautiful—not that Izuku would ever put his feelings to words… Kirishima was dating Kacchan, after all!
Izuku smiled wide, a small blush dusting his freckled cheeks while he arched his back in a minor stretch. “Hi, Kirishima-kun. I-is everything okay?” He hadn’t quite heard anything that Kirishima said while he was half-asleep. He sat up, holding the blanket to his chest as he was a bit worried since it wasn’t like Kirishima to wake him up.

Re: Star Crossed [Kiri/Baku x Deku][World of Darkness AU]
The faux redhead watched on as the greenette slowly started to wake for him. He felt a little guilty about waking him up, knowing full well that his schedule was completely flipped by now. This was probably really early for him now that he thought about it, but he didn't think he could let him sleep much longer without him running out of time to get ready. Katsuki was the grumpy sort and that seemed particularly true when it came to Izuku himself. He honestly didn't understand it as he'd only ever seen his freckled friend be nice to him. Still, Katsuki had introduced them himself and so his opinion couldn't be all bad, right? This was probably just one of Bakugou's positive feelings that he doesn't want anyone to see kind of thing.
"Hey man... Sorry to wake you up, but Katsuki will probably be here pretty soon. Wanted to make sure you had enough time to wake up and get ready! You know how he can get about having to wait for other people, ya know? We also need to get dinner started if we want to surprise him with it! Uh... Unless you think we should order something instead... He's such a good cook, man, it's so hard to surprise him with dinner." He caught himself rambling and pumped the breaks to give the poor guy's sleepy brain a moment to catch up and form a reply.
Honestly, if they did choose to cook, the gesture wouldn't be lost on the blond, even if he criticized the dish. At the same time, they hadn't seen each other in a couple of weeks. "Then again... Maybe it would be nice to go out somewhere..." He muttered, half to himself this time. How someone so big and buff could look so adorable was a mystery. His cute little brows were pinched in concentration, his lower lip pouting in thought. The fact that those same lips looked kissably soft probably didn't help matters in the slightest either...

Izuku’s brows were pinched in concentration as his lips stood in a pouty expression unconsciously while he listened to Kirishima explain that he needed to wake up and get ready because Katsuki was coming over for dinner. Wait… Katsuki… Kacchan! Sudden panic set in and Izuku jumped out of bed, nearly landing on his face, at the mention of his childhood friend and dinner! He had completely forgotten that Kacchan would be back today. Izuku wasn’t ready to face him, not with his overwhelming crush on the faux redhead. “K-Kacchan is coming over!” He squeaked as he rummaged through his closet for a decent outfit that would appease the explosive blonde. “W-we have to f-figure out what’s for d-dinner! Kirishima-kun is right, Kacchan is an amazing cook, well, I mean, he’s Kacchan so of course he is. Kacchan is good at everything, Kacchan is amazing. Oh, t-this means Kirishima-kun and I have to cook for Kacchan? Oh, no, no, that won’t do… Kacchan hates my cooking. He says I’m so terrible at it and that he would rather eat dirt… shitty Deku you can’t do anything right, that’s what Kacchan would say. So maybe we should go out to eat? B-but then that’s not special and Kacchan has been gone for so long…” his rant turning into incoherent mumbling towards the end as he destroyed his closet looking for the perfect outfit. He settled on a pair of dark jeans and a plain crimson v-neck, something he thought Kacchan wouldn’t critique—Hey, it beats his usual T-shirt shirt.
He left Kirishima with a bow and a ‘Thank you’ before nearly running to the bathroom for a shower. He stood underneath the steaming water for a moment letting out a soft sigh. Izuku had such a memorable time with Kirishima while Bakugou was away that he was almost sad to have the blonde back as a constant reminder that Izuku could never have what he wanted. He shook his head to rid himself of these thoughts. “Kirishima-kun is dating Kacchan. We are just friends…”
Izuku was squeaky clean, in his best outfit, with water dripping from his curls—he was never good at drying his hair thoroughly—as he entered the common area of their apartment. “Let’s cook for Kacchan!” he announced, proudly walking into the kitchen.

Re: Star Crossed [Kiri/Baku x Deku][World of Darkness AU]
And he'd been trying so hard to make sure Midoriya didn't panic. It had been a valiant effort, he'd like to think, and one that he wasn't quite done making. "Yeah! I kinda lost track of time too..." He sidestepped quickly out of the way as the greenette scrambled into the closet to find himself some clothes. "Relax, man! I missed him too, but I'm sure it'll be fine no matter how we decide to celebrate! Honestly, knowing him, he'll probably say he doesn't want to and just be happy on the inside, you know how he is. Also, you're cooking isn't that bad..." He added, though he had to admit that between the three of them, Izuku was the one that usually fell short in the cooking department. Honestly the only reason he could cook as well as he did was you didn't get a body like his by eating instant meals all the time. He kind of needed to know how to cook.
Honestly, he'd half expected him to strip and change right there just to save time. Instead, he was thanking him politely then scampering into the bathroom to shower. He had to remind his brain that there was no reason for him to be disappointed. Instead, he forced himself to leave the room and start getting ready himself. A quick shower and some clothes later and he was still trying to figure out what they should do for dinner. Perhaps they could all go to that really good Thai food place... It was a hole in the wall, but the food was amazing and would certainly appeal to Katsuki's fondness for food that felt like it had a fire quirk and wasn't afraid to defend itself.
Once he was nice and clean, he'd towel-dried his hair and left it down for now. He could style it later if he felt like that would be better. He considered putting on a shirt, but just went with pants for right now, instead venturing to the fridge to see what they had. If they wanted to cook something they needed to have things to cook or at least know what they would need to cook something. It really would be much easier to go out for food, but there was something so nice about someone taking the time to cook just for you... At least that's how he felt, he liked to think that Katsuki might feel the same.
He looked over his shoulder when Izuku joined him, snickering at his enthusiasm. "Yeah, alright! I'm thinking Mongolean Beef, but we'd have to go shopping real fast for theat. The dish itself is super quick to make though so we should still have enough time. Now that I think about it, I probably should have mentioned this yesterday so we could be ready today. My bad." He smiled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head as he closed the fridge. "We don't you set some rice to cook while I throw on a shirt then we can pick up what we need?" He asked, even as he started to venture back towards his room. A part of him realized that the impromptu shopping trip was little more than a final chance to do something just the two of them, but he once again tried not to dwell on it.

A small blush tickled his freckled cheeks as Izuku was faced with a shirtless Kirishima in the kitchen, causing him to shy away, his gaze hitting the floor. Kirishima walked around shirtless on so many occasions one would think Izuku be used to it by now but to the contrary he was flustered more and more with each occurrence.
“Mmm! That sounds delicious!” his attitude shifting quickly with the mention of food. He was excited that they would cook a meal for Kacchan together. His cooking may not be the best but with Kirishima’s help he was confident they could make a dish that would put a small grin on the blonde’s face. “It’s okay, Kirishima-kun, I-I probably should’ve remembered Kacchan would be back today.” A small sulk could be heard in his voice while he moved about the kitchen to start the rice. He kept his gaze low, trying his hardest to avoid eye contact with Kirishima’s toned chest as to not become engulfed in red. His will lasted long enough for Kirishima to walk out of the kitchen towards his room, giving Izuku an incredible view of his voluptuous backside. Izuku’s eyes were glued to Kirishima’s broad shoulders and rippling back muscles that he didn’t notice the water overflowing the rice he intended to wash. A small yelp escaped him as he tried to regain his composure and turn the sink faucet off.
After salvaging the rice and turning the cooker on, he went to sit on the couch and wait for Kirishima. He was excited to go shopping with Kirishima, this was one last outing, one last chance to be alone with the faux redhead before Bakugou settled back into routine. He loved his childhood friend, he really did, but he craved more time alone with his roommate. His sweet, thoughtful, encouraging, funny roommate. Izuku let out a sigh.

Re: Star Crossed [Kiri/Baku x Deku][World of Darkness AU]
Once he was in his room, he could relax for a moment. He really hadn't thought this through... Maybe he really should have insisted that they go out to eat... While there was something special about cooking for the people you care about, the kitchen of the apartment they were renting wasn't exactly... Large. It had actually been something that Bakugou had complained quite a bit about and the reason why, when Bakugou was around, he claimed it as his own territory and didn't allow either of them inside. They would definitely have to finish before he got back or he might try to finish his own welcome back dinner.
The trouble was, this meant that he and Izuku would also be sharing the tiny space that was the kitchen. He wasn't sure how to feel about how much he craved being near him nor how the thought of them bumping into each other as they worked had butterflies fluttering about his stomach. It's not like Katsuki leaving on these little outings without him was new... Sure this one had been longer than most, but the blond always came back and though he wasn't good with words, he always made it clear how much he'd missed him. He's had a friend or two even point out that the blond might be cheating on him.
That couldn't be it... It couldn't be! Aside from the trips he took periodically and the fact he'd never been allowed to go on these trips, there was nothing to indicate the other had been doing anything questionable! Even if seemed to get agitated right up till he left. And seemed much happier when he got back. And got really defensive when he asked to come along. Or even for pictures from the trip. Or how Katuki wasn't hiding how he went on these trips with some of their other friends, but never with him. And how sometimes he came back to him with mysterious scratches, bruises, or even bites that he refused to explain... Okay so maybe there was a lot of suspicious things, but it was a coincidence! It was! Katsuki... Katsuki wasn't like that! He wasn't!
Still, as time had dragged on, even though he'd given up trying to get an explanation out of him as no longer asking to come along, he'd started to suspect. A part of him refused to believe that he would do something like that, but a small part, ever so small, worried. It was that tiny part that had left just enough room for him to notice things about his roommate. Like how cute his freckles were, or how nicely his muscles moved under that freckled skin, or how when he was asleep all the anxiety melted out of him and he looked sweet as a cherub. It was the same part of him that took note of how nice he was and how cute he looked when his cheeks were flushed pink. Guilt gnawed at him, but he couldn't help the feelings he was developing.
He dressed casually for now as they were just going to the store, what's more, it would be best to cook in clothes he didn't mind getting dirty, considering they would be cooking once they got back. Just focus on making dinner for your definitely loyal boyfriend and not on the guilt riddled crush on said boyfriend's childhood friend. Fuck... Why was he so horrible...? Still, he knew he couldn't help how he feels, what was important was willpower right? Right... Taking a deep breath to gather himself, he came back out, thankfully fully clothed, and headed for the door to slip on his shoes. "Ready to go?" He called into the apartment, not sure if he was ready to face his adorable roomie, knowing with each step they drew closer to losing the fragile thing they had when Katsuki wasn't around.

Re: Star Crossed [Kiri/Baku x Deku][World of Darkness AU]
Kacchan was coming over having returned from one of the many trips he took with his other friends—leaving Kirishima and Izuku behind as usual—and Izuku was honestly excited to see him. He had always loved his childhood friend, followed him around, talked his ear off, and even at one point the greenette may have had a small crush on the firey blonde, but that was a long, long time ago and Izuku would never admit to that. Having a crush on someone who wasn’t always nice to you during childhood seemed ridiculous, but Izuku could always see through Katsuki’s aggressive nature for what it really was and at one point it made Izuku swoon with any ounce of attention the blonde gave him. Now, though, he was content with being close friends—or at least he would like to think they were close—to the man. Watching Katsuki grow up and mature in his own way was exciting for the greenette.
Izuku was lost in thought when he heard Kirishima ask if he was ready to go. Yes! He was ready, definitely ready to go on this seemingly normal—but alas, very intimate to Izuku—outing with his roommate, ready to grab the ingredients to help his crush cook for said crushes boyfriend, ready for his heart to drop as he witnessed the reunion between the two. Sure, Kacchan wasn’t one for PDA but the intensity of the gaze his childhood friend locked onto his boyfriend was enough to pain Izuku. They were happy and Izuku shouldn’t interrupt that.
The crush on Kirishima was silly anyway, how could small, weak, nerdy Izuku possibly compare to Kacchan? Kacchan was amazing… he was strong, assertive, confident, and passion fueled his every move. Not just that… but how could Izuku even think he’d be good enough for Kirishima? Even if Kirishima was single Izuku would be the last person he would choose as a partner. Kirishima was tough, outgoing, funny, manly… and Izuku was… Izuku. He shook his head to rid himself of these intrusive thoughts, grabbing his wallet and phone off the kitchen counter, and made his way to the entryway. He smiled wide as he put on his shoes: “I’m ready, Kirishima-kun!”
He reached past Kirishima opening the front door for them. He waited as Kirishima walked out first and he followed, shutting and locking the door behind him. He was practically bouncing with excitement as they made their way out of the apartment building.

Re: Star Crossed [Kiri/Baku x Deku][World of Darkness AU]
While Midoriya got ready, he made one final check to be sure of what they would need to get, making a list on his phone so he wouldn't forget anything. The last thing they needed was to go back for something when they were on a time crunch... It helped distract him for a little while, but it didn't last long. With his list done and Izuku ready to go shortly after, he found himself unexpectedly close to the greenette as the other reached past him for the door. He swallowed his guilt as the urge to slip an arm around his waist was barely resisted, forcing himself to step out of the apartment. Once the door was locked, they were on their way!
Together they made their way out of the complex and towards the nearby grocery store, Kirishima trying to keep things cool and casual as they walked side by side. "Made up a list for us." He was about to ask if the greenette wanted to split up so they could gather the ingredients faster, but in the end, he thought against it. It wouldn't be just the two of them for a long while if Bakugou's track record held so he didn't want to miss his chance. Sure they could still hang out after class on the evenings where Bakugou didn't stay over, but the blond stayed over often. He'd actually teased him about missing him too much only for his heart to race when he'd revealed that he didn't like to be away from him. Regardless, evenings with Izuku were nice, but it was different when it was just them for a week. He wasn't quite ready to give up that time yet.
"Maybe we should get some extra things so we have something else to eat in case the food's too hot. I know you really like katsudon, but that takes a long time to make, anything that's quick that you might like?" It wouldn't hurt to spoil his roomie a little right? Honestly, he was kicking himself now... If he'd thought this through a little more, he could have planned to make all their favorites so they all enjoyed it equally. Oh well... Maybe next time. To repay Midoriya for little favor of opening the door for him, he in turn opened the door of the grocer and held it open for his friend.

Re: Star Crossed [Kiri/Baku x Deku][World of Darkness AU]
The entire interaction between Izuku and his roommate so far tonight was weighing heavily on his mind. Kirishima was acting like himself, sure, but Izuku had a nagging feeling that something was off. Perhaps it was just both of their nerves at having Kacchan back but that didn’t stop the greenette from overthinking. He was concerned he may have done something wrong, or acted in a way that showed the other his deep rooted feelings. Fear consumed him and his mind spiraled, replaying the events of tonight over and over obsessively trying to pinpoint what he had done wrong, how he should’ve acted, and what he could do to make things better again. It was no secret that Izuku struggled with anxiety, it was often very apparent, but it seemed to spiral when his worst fear confronted him: disappointing those that the boy loved and cared for. He was fidgeting with his fingers when Eijirou spoke, nearly missing the words due to his thoughts being too loud. “O-oh, you did? What’s on the list?” He looked up at the faux red head as they continued to walk, green eyes focused on the other to ground himself.
Izuku smiled brightly at the mention of katsudon. Aside from Kacchan, Kirishima made one of the best katsudon Izuku had ever had! He could really tell it was made with love. “Katsudon would’ve been great, Kirishima-kun! But, you’re right, it does take a while to make.” His excitement deflating. “R-really anything is fine with me. Y-you’re cooking is so good, I-I would eat anything you made.” He blushed a little at having complimented the other. Izuku had always been quick to compliment his friends, especially Kacchan, because he wanted to show his appreciation, but since developing his crush on Kirishima complimenting the other always made the greenettes heart flip.
Izuku entered the store ahead of Kirishima and grabbed a basket for them to use. He browsed through the aisles that held the ingredients Kirishima put on his list, picking up a box of brownie mix he turned to the other, “I know Kacchan doesn’t really like sweets… b-but maybe we can make this? And I bet if we put chili powder in the mix, Kacchan would enjoy it, too.” He held the box up to show Kirishima.
