Two Broke Scientists and their Alien (Kiri x Izu x Alien!Baku)

Since Katsuki was young he longed to be part of an exploration crew intended to travel beyond his home world in search of planets beyond the ones in their own system. After he matured and proved himself as a capable Exoplanetologist, he was given a chance to follow that dream. Everything was going well until they landed on a planet close to a massive, glowing star within a far away system. During their exploration of the planet, Katsuki was separated from the group when an army of what appeared to be an unknown host species tracked them down. He could only hope the others escaped and got far away from this hell.

The cage that held him was impervious to his attacks—he used his fists, legs, tail, shoulders… everything in his arsenal to break free. He spent the good portion of a week trying to break through the transparent barrier between him and freedom to no avail. Katsuki didn’t give up, he wasn’t a quitter, but in his rage he was still mindful enough to realize that this plan wasn’t working and if he had any hope of scheming an escape he would need to conserve his energy, so he sat and waited. The humans were cruel to him, they restricted his nutrition to keep him docile, left him with nothing but a hard mattress atop a slab of concrete as a bed, a place for him to waste in, no curtain for privacy at all, he was on full display….but at least he had a constant water supply. The worst part was when the humans came in to do the testing. Katsuki had proven to be aggressive from the moment they captured him, he lashed out with his sharp claws, barred his vicious teeth, and flailed his tail at those who tried to approach from behind, he even bit one of the soldiers on the arm but to Katsuki’s defense he needed host DNA in order to breathe properly for long periods of time and be able to digest this planets food or he would die… he didn’t plan on hurting the human further than that—but the others wouldn’t understand. At one point he tried to reason with them, Katsuki was a scientist! They couldn’t keep him in such conditions, it was inhumane! But alas, the language of his species made no coherent sense to the humans and came out as clicks and growls rather than words. Because of the aggressive behavior displayed by the alien, he was made to wear a shock collar as well as shock anklets and bracelets on his limbs. The humans would incapacitate him with shock prior to entering his prison where they would proceed to poke and probe at him. Beyond the shock, the tests themselves were painful, he was sore and weak….Katsuki was tired, there’s only so much the alien could take.

The passage of time was difficult for him to keep track of, but he was pretty sure this was the planets 7th rotation since he arrived, whether it be night or day he was unsure. He lay atop his cot facing away from the many monitors and lab equipment used by the humans, as he normally did, trying to regain his strength from the recent events, when he heard the chatter of two unfamiliar voices. He made no effort to move, instead continuing to day dream of his home.

Izuku never knew the day would come when he and his best friend, Eijiro, would not only graduate from one of the most esteemed colleges in the nation, but also land a job in a proper lab, study specimens!! Sure, it was the graveyard shift, but they had each other!! And, even if the pay seemed really nice, student loan debt, rent, and other bills made it difficult to save any of their earnings properly. But, both young men were confident, determined, and eager to do their jobs, maybe move up on the food chain with their discoveries!!

Their first night on the job seemed easy enough-- monitor health readings, document periodically and whenever there was a spike anywhere. Sure, it was.... boring, looking at a set of screens with no way to know what they were monitoring. Granted, they had been trained, and had been told that aside from the tools shown, they were not to touch anything without a superior in the room. Sure, it bred a great deal of curiosity and suspicionin both young men, but they behaved the best they could....

But accidents happened. Izuku and Eijiro had been taking notes, and talking absently about dinner plans with old friends, only for the greenette to knock over his thermos. Now, luckily it was closed, but in return, the poor guy was flipping and unintentionally juggling the item, only for it to seemingly launch itself from his poor hands, and hit a seemingly innocuous button hidden on the table. At first, nothing happened, but soon, the blank, boring wall behind their monitors lifted, revealing a two-way window into the room where the alien was being held.

At first both new hires froze in place, looking panicked as, well, this was seemingly a big fucking oops, something they could get fired over. However, that fear was quickly quashed by curiosity as they both looked to the figure in an odd looking enclosure beyond the window. "Uh.... Izuku? You seeing what I'm seeing?" He asked, seeing his fairly shorter companion nod, as they both soon stared at the creature, wondering what it was. Without thinking, Eijiro softly tapped at the glass, only for the shorter man to try to scold him in hushed tones, hoping not to be heard. Its rude to tap on glass, you know? Then again, maybe this would be a first for the creature beyond the glass?

Katsuki continued to ignore the chatter of what he only assumed was two host species as he had not seen anything else since he arrived, when an annoying tapping sound began to irk him. He swiftly got off the bed he lay upon, turning to the glass he gave a loud snarled hiss, a sign of agitation to his people. It was nothing new for Katsuki to hear the talk of the host species, it usually meant that someone was about to shock him, however, he had never heard that incessant tapping sound, it went straight to his bones and shivered his spine.
“Stop that!” He screamed in various clicks of his tongue.

Instead of going on a rant about how it was rude to make such a noise, he took a moment to observe the two host species that stood, in shock, before him. They weren’t much different from the other host species Katsuki had come in contact with, aside from their brightly colored hair and shocked faces, but they gave off an aura of calm. This caused confusion in Katsuki.. they hadn’t shocked him yet which was strange, he typically was shocked way before the panel was opened to reveal him like some sort of animal, and they weren’t holding anything to probe him with. He whipped his tail in annoyance and approached the glass, he tried to smell them but alas the glass was too thick, instead he pressed his face against the glass leaving mist prints of his nostrils. He stood intimidatingly tall, his sharp teeth in a snarl, and his tail whipping back and forth in challenge. They hadn’t shocked him yet so if they planned to come in here and probe him, he was going to be ready. Today was the day he had waited for, the day he escaped.
