Starting a new job was always nerve wracking, but starting a new job in the middle of space surrounded by foreign life forms? That was a bit more intense. Izuku was anxious. That’s not to say he wasn’t always on some level of anxious, but today he experienced a bit more anxiety than usual. It was the start of his new position at the space station and he had no idea what to expect. He wasn’t new to working for the Alliance, he had been an ambassador on Earth for a few years after graduating from University with a bachelor’s in International Relations with a minor in Political Science, but Izuku was ready to leave his home planet and explore what the rest of the galaxy had to offer!

His flight to the space station the previous day was rough, he ended up not feeling well on the ride over and had to spend a good amount of time in the bathroom. This carried over into the landing causing the poor greenette to spend his first night at the space station on the bathroom floor. As he was dizzy, nauseous, and utterly exhausted it dawned on him how alone he was up here. He left his mom, friends, and mentor all to come up here and for what? With the sudden wave of homesickness, not to mention the continued motion sickness, Izuku cried himself to sleep that night. Things would get better he promised as he drifted off to sleep.

Things may have gotten a bit better for the greenette depending on perspective as he now sat in the lobby of HQ sweaty and nauseous from anxiety rather than motion sickness, a fair trade perhaps as he was quite used to using coping skills to dismiss his anxiety—if only they would work today. His head was spinning with the realization that he was in fact alone, in space, surrounded by alien life forms, starting a new path at the ripe age of 25. He would be okay, he tried telling himself, this wasn’t his first encounter with aliens, heck one of his best friends is from Mars. He took a few deep breaths to still his beating heart when he heard a voice from behind him. “Ah, Midoriya you’re here. If you’d follow me I’ll take you to meet your trainer.” Izuku hopped off the chair almost immediately, a huge smile on his face as he saw the familiar one of Aizawa; they had worked together for a year back on Earth. “Aizawa-san!” He chirped happily as he made his way to the older male. “I didn’t know you were transferred here.” To which he was met with a tired sigh.

The two held brief catch-up conversation before Aizawa explained the reasoning for Izuku to have a trainer from a different embassy, given Earth still being one of the newer planets to the Alliance. They arrived at a blurred glass door to which Aizawa swiftly knocked, immediately walking away leaving Izuku a bit dumb founded. “Good luck.” He has said as he turned the corner. Izuku audibly gulped as he awaited his trainer.

The entire stretch of suites and offices had been bustling for days now.

The introduction of another race was exciting and concerning. They were a newer race, at least to this stretch of the cosmos and it was... going to be a headache. He was sure of that. But he had been selected as the acting ambassador for this period, somehow, don't ask.

He had spent the better part of the day being briefed and talked to by the other ambassadors, given notes and lists and info packets for nearly everything imaginable to tell the representative. By the end of every meeting he had a stack of infotabs and data cards that stood about the height of his forearm to give the human. He just hoped it wasn't one of the ancient, slow moving ones that had seemingly lost all of their pigment in age. Some of them had been such a pain to talk to previously, and that's where he supposed all the lists came from.

The knock to the door came after he finished stacking the last of the data cards, and on reflex he took a second to smooth the plats of fur sticking from the traditional, formal dressings he was wrapped in. His parents would have done the same to him had they been here, and his dam had spent the better part of the morning harassing him over video to preen and make sure he was properly presentable for the task. She hadn't left him alone until he had given in, braided his hair and such..

Deeming himself presentable as ever, he palmed the entry pad to open the door with a sudden swift shhhk to let the new ambassador into his office here on the station. Standing to greet him, and all prim and proper until he actually got a good look at the human.

And then it was just impossible to let a short bark of a laugh escape. "You are a lot smaller than I expected." he admitted, backpedaled over, to try and cover the rather inappropriate response. Listen, he was new to this. He was young for his own race, and being chosen for this was still fresh. He had the knowledge to teach the new guy hot to not start an intergalactic war, but as far as some higher professional behaviors... he was working on it himself. Which was likely why he got picked, and not either ambassador for the other races present on the station. They were old and had been there for at least three of his own life times.

He motioned for the human to come in, waving to a chair at the front side of the desk in the room. "Come it. Sit." And at least he had been given the chance to meet another human prior, and collect the genetic memory of their language from that one instead of forcing this greenhorn into a bizarre experience. More so than he was likely already going through.

Izuku's jaw nearly dropped as the door to the office opened revealing a rather tall...alien, being the only word he could think of to describe the trainer that stood before him. He knew that wasn't the politically correct term but he was still a bit young, naive, and honestly unable to think at this point. The green haired man used quite a bit of effort to keep his composure as the other began to laugh and comment on his height. His cheeks turned a pretty light pink as he gave a small pouty face. "I'm average height for my race!" he exclaimed sounding a bit more whiney than intended. He almost couldn't believe this guy was laughing at him let alone commenting on his height! What was next? Would he say something about how Izuku dressed? He was used to this being a very professional work environment. He shrugged it off light heartedly giving the alien the benefit of the doubt... Izuku was new here, besides that may just be how his race interacts, Izuku wasn't sure.

Walking past the alien made their clear height difference very apparent to the green haired man, he ducked his head a little in embarrassment, rubbing the back of his neck briefly. Not only was he called small he now felt very, very small. He took a seat in front of the desk as instructed and waited for his trainer to sit opposite him. "My name is Izuku Midoriya, I'm, uh, from Earth." he said shyly unsure really how to introduce himself.
