In Love with the Sun and Moon [Odhran x Sun/Moon]
While Odhran shouldn't have been surprised to get a notification from the daycare about damage occurring, it still felt out if place all the same. Sure, so far Sun and Moon had been doing well, only needing their monthly checkups until now, but it was foolish to think they would be immune to damage. While they were built to handle almost literal swarms of unruly children, accidents happen. And, one did indeed happen, as was evident upon the Mechanic's arrival. The almost absurdly tall, lanky animatronic seemed right as rain, spare for a discomforting detail.
The poor thing's arm had been dislocated, barely sitting just outside the socket proper, supported by the remaining intact wiring inside. "How on earth did this happen?!" Odhran lamented, trotting over, travel toolbox in hand. "There's no way some kid did this-- does it hurt?" The human asked with genuine concern, motioning for the other to get down to their level, or as close as he could for them. "Gods above and below-- I'm going to have to disconnect the remaining wires so they aren't damaged too, if they aren't already." They sighed, shining a light into the semi-exposed socket to see just how many wires they'd need to fuss with before bringing the big sweetheart to Parts and Service.
It hurt, seeing the other's still expression, permanently affixed into that bright grin, knowing damn well that mask only matched his feelings a portion of the time. It annoyed Odhran, how cheap the company could be. The generators were in the play area, for fuck's sake!! Really, if they had to be easy access, they should be along the walls, with proper barriers in place!! Alas, they aren't paid to argue safety, they're paid to fix and entertain the animatronics.... Well, the entertainment wasn't in the job description, however, unbeknownst to their employers, they had found ways to help the rockstars unwind in a mutually beneficial way to the Mechanic.
The young human shook their head of those thoughts for the time being-- honestly, with how much they've seen of Sun and Moon's build, it was clear they didn't add 'those features' for mutually rewarding recharge-time. And, really, as far as they could tell so far of the two, they either didn't know of such acts at all, or they know, but have never shone interest, for one reason or another. Odhran would bet money on the latter-- the Cestial Twins weren't children, naive and innocent of adult things. After all, the Daycare sometimes had 10 to as old as 13 years of age, and unfortunately, there have been cases where puberty struck at the worst time. Talks were given, as gently and correctly as possible, with the hope that those poor souls didn't grow to hate their bodies over natural processes, as messy and uncomfortable as they can be.
Mind brought back on track, they looked up to Sun with a sympathetic smile, before getting the okay to begin their work. One, two, three and four wires carefully removed, resulting in a detached mechanical arm that jingles at the wrist. "There we go-- now, let's get you back to Parts and Service, that way I can make you good as new! I'm just glad the more intense parts weren't too roughed up. I would have set you up with a spare until I fixed this one properly." They mused with a pout. "I honestly should paint everyone's spare parts-- though, it may be a problem if color pallets change at some point...." Odhran murmured to themselves, before looking up to the other, curiosity glinting in their eyes. "Say.... would you ever like a new silicone layer? I'm sure I can mix something up so you look a little more sparkly without using glitter glue." They giggled, hoping to lighten the mood as they made the long trek. The mileage they put on in this massive facility daily was outrageous.

Re: In Love with the Sun and Moon
Upon arrival, Odhran would find the animatronic looking generally very distressed. Ironically, in spit of the clear discomfort the hanging limb gave him, his attention was elsewhere. After pinging staff that he'd been damaged, an employee had been sent to take over for him and maintenance had been called shortly after to get the child he'd damaged himself trying to get off the play structure down, resulting in the child's parents being contacted so that they could not only come to fetch their child but also speak to their lawyers about covering the damages done to their property. Meanwhile, Sun had been shooed off to the side so as not to frighten the other children with his 'injury', leaving him to stress about their care from across the room.
Taking care of the kids was his main purpose and to have children here and be expected to sit back and do nothing was incredibly stressful. He turned his head to look over when spoken to only to look down at the damage then up towards the top of the nearest play structure. "One of the children climbed up the outside of that play structure to the top. I climbed up there to get them, but they pushed me. I caught myself on the way down, but wrenched my arm free while doing it." The change in tone between when he interacted with children and interacted with adults could be rather jarring if you weren't used to it... Well, unless you got him excited, then it was pretty similar.
"Am I gonna get in trouble?" He asked, shockingly timidly. He didn't respond in terms of the pain he was in, something they were programmed to feel. It helped discourage them from doing something that would damage them, after all. All the same, he was kneeling down for them then, holding nice and still so the wires could be disconnected from the damaged limb. It always felt strange to be disconnected from any of his parts, particularly when wide awake like this. One by one he was disconnected and once he was completely freed of the limb it felt like it never existed, like a part of himself just sort of stopped. He didn't like it, but there was nothing he could really do about it and Odhran would fix it soon enough.
"That may not be easy to do with my parts, given the color-changing technology." He pointed out, standing back up to tower over the mechanic. Unable to help himself he looked back over to where the children were once again playing, longing to be back with them, but knowing he needed to be repaired first. He looked back over then, surprised at the suggestion being made to him. As it was, he already had a different coverage than the rest of the animatronics, his own being somewhat foam-like. It gave him a little padding which was needed when working with children, but it was fairly thin and a pain to keep clean due to its absorptive nature.
"Silicone?" He brought up his remaining hand, looking at it curiously as he thought. "Do you think something like that would be approved? It would be a lot easier to keep clean and it would feel more like skin too. Do you think my sensory network would work in something like that?" He certainly seemed intrigued by the concept and indeed the thought of having sparkles mixed into his 'skin' sounded lovely! Ohhh... Perhaps the black bit of Moon's face could have purple sparkles in it, that would look amazing! He felt the urge to smile as they'd been programed to produce facial expressions, though they'd never gotten a body to do so in the end. He could feel the warm approval of his other half at the thought of new, upgraded skin. Still...
"We would really like that, but... I don't think management would green-light an upgrade for us. We can't even blink and that's something customers have asked for, for a while now." He shrugged his one functioning shoulder, walking with the mechanic towards the nearest staff only door so they could take the maintenance tunnels to minimize people seeing him like this. He hesitated not long upon entry, however, growling out in pain at the partial shift the dim lighting forced on him. Heterochromic red and white eyes trained back onto the mechanic as they continued to walk, the now mismatched animatronic's voice distorted halfway between Sun's higher almost manic voice and Moon's deep rumble. "We're not just last in line for upgrades, we're not in the line at all. We're lucky they maintain us. Not making enough revenue to warrant more... The Pizzaplex is aimed at an 8+ demographic so a daycare isn't their top priority." Some of Moon's bitterness was bleeding into Eclipes' words, though he wasn't showing any outward aggression at least.

Re: In Love with the Sun and Moon
"Kids can be so, so needlessly mean.... You were just trying to get the kid to safety, and if anyone is upset with you, I would love to have a stern word with them." Odhran huffed, clearly soft for all of the bots they work on. Sun and Moon were no exception. "But, I'm just glad you're okay otherwise-- no doubt you're stressed, having to be taken to be repaired during working hours. But!! Stuff happens, and it's best we roll with the punches, right?" They looked up at the other, hoping their words were at least a little comforting. Though, when asked if he would get in trouble, Odhran looked so sad, wondering if the poor sweetheart had been punished fir other things out of his control. "Of course not!! You were doing your job, and children are unpredictable, Sunny!! You did your best in this situation, y'hear? You are a good boy." They insisted with a sweetly determined pout on their lips, before giving his remaining hand a comforting squeeze. "I know I'm proud of you for doing your job to the best of your ability!" They assured, smile soon shining bright.
The Mechanic saw how Sun looked back to the kids, and took his free hand in theirs once more, hoping it would provide some comfort. "They'll be okay-- Lily, Raymond and Spencer are great with the kids!! Not as great as you are, but the little ones are in good hands, promise!" The human assured as they soon lead him away. They watched the tall animatronic examine his hand curiously at the proposal for a silicone casing instead of foam, and was hopeful, only for the reminder that the company was cheap. "Well, your beans are coated in a faint silicone already, so I'd just have to run a scan on your arm before I put it back on you so I can get a proper idea on how to best pull it off. Honestly, being a live-in Mechanic allows the perk of not paying expensive rent elsewhere, plus a nice cushion I can use for experimental buildsike this! I think if I can show that I can get it to work, they'll give me the green light!!" Odhran gave a determined lite fist bob in front of them, the other's arm draped over their shoulder and held in place by another hand. "If I'm lucky, I can make you guys an emotive face-- it's cruel putting in code so you can emote, just to give you a static expression. Some days I wanna slap those cheap bastards around--" they quickly cut themselves off, before looking to the other sheepishly. "S-sorry, that slipped out in my anger.... but, seriously, they have the money to make evolving and feeling AI, only to leave them lacking and or longing in one way or another. Poor Roxy has a couple complexes, for crying out loud!! She needs more genuine affirmations!!" The human fumed faintly, clearly attached to their charges.
Though, when Eclipse came forward due to the minimal lighting, they gently took the other's hand again, concern on their features. "Does it always hurt when you shift? I can look into nullify the pain caused while shifting if youd like me to? Even if those.... cheapskates higher-up reject my ideas to upgrade you, I want to at least help you at least be more comfortable...." They looked down for a few moments, before shaking their head if the unpleasant feelings that bubbled up. "But, first order of business is you and your arm!! I'm sure you wanna play with the little ones again before the Daycare closes fir the day, right?" They asked, soon having a bounce in their step as they attempted to pick up the speed. Really, their small gait was probably torturously slow for the taller animatronic.
Before long, they were in Parts and Service, where the light was brighter, though the human was soon escorting the other inside, though they hesitated at the threshold. They let go of Eclipse to press a few buttons on their Fazwatch, and soon, thighs was roughly as dim as it was in the passageways leading to the room. "Had this feature installed with Freddy's help, that way you don't have to shift so much just to get checked up, or in this case, repaired!!" They smiled up at the other, and soon headed to the safety cylinder, and motioned for the other to lay down. "Would you like to lay back, or on your front for this? Either option will work well for the repair process!! And would you like me to numb the area ahead if time, that way when your arm's fixed, it'll only feel like it was asleep, rather than hurting?" They asked with a tilt of their head. Odhran was always like this-- treating the cast as more than just machines, like they were also human in their own ways. "I managed to figure that one out for Monty after he'd been hit by the Hole in One bucket one too many times-- sure, it feels weird for a little bit, but it only lasts five minutes, tops!! It'll feel like.... getting zapped by a joy buzzer, but spread out like TV static is visually!! Does that make sense?" They asked, knowing that they can be confusing and sometimes overly complicated as they try to explain sensations to the animatronics. "Oh!! While I'm here with you in the bench, would you like me to add more music for you to play for the kids?" They asked, having been playing with music box simulators the past few nights they were unable to sleep. "Oh!! And did I give you a white noise generator yet? It would be just like me to forget to bring it up after working hard on it." They softly knocked on their forehead, and poking their short but thick tongue out. "Scatterbrain!"
Bad habit, really, poking at oneself that way.

Re: In Love with the Sun and Moon
"They really wanted to be up there, but needless to say I couldn't just let them. I... I should have called security for help, but I panicked! I was afraid of what might happen if they took too long and they fell. I had to call security for help anyway in the end..." He let out an exaggerated sigh then, looking startled as he was assured he not only shouldn't get in trouble, but had actually done good. "B-but! I got myself damaged! I know Fazbear Entertainment will probably sue the child's parents for the cost of my repair, but that doesn't change the fact that I needed repairing in the first place."
He hesitated for just a second before timidly continuing. "You... You really think I was a good boy in spite of that...?" There was a heartbreaking amount of hope in the question, making it obvious just how starved of positive interaction he was, let alone something as nice as full-on praise. All the same, he was reluctantly leaving his post to follow after the mechanic to get the repairs he needed. A dislocated shoulder wasn't something you could just patch on location after all. If the positive reenforcement weren't enough, the mechanic was actually suggesting he be upgraded, something he was sure wouldn't be approved, but it did sound so nice...
"It would be nice to even blink, honestly. I know people have complained about my staring so maybe you can convince them of that at least. More seems like too much to hope for." He chuckled softly at the apology he got though. "It's okay. I have a profanity filter that's on by default, but there are no children around to hear you at the moment. You may want to be careful in the future in case though." To anyone that hadn't seen him when he wasn't around children, they would find his behavior strangely subdued, but this was fairly normal for him. He certainly wasn't difficult to excite, but he was at least a little calmer when it was just adults, falling into a lower level of being happy and trying to string you right along with him.
"Always... It's a... Safety precaution. It was always programmed to be unpleasant to shift because they wanted us not to override and be out when we're not supposed to be, Moon out when the lights are on or Sun out when the lights are out. Ever since Moon's been having trouble with his patience, it was decided he shouldn't be out at all. That's why there's a lights on rule... Any why they made shifting much more painful, even though the light will force us to do it anyway." He shrugged what was left of his shoulders. It was so sad to see that they seemed to have simply accepted this change in their lives without complaint. "I don't want you to get in trouble for 'fixing' us..."
When they finally arrived, he braced himself to shift back fully into Sun only for the light to kindly be dimmed so the two of them continued to share their body. "Thank you..." The half-transformed robot murmured softly, barely understandable under the distortion. He approached the safety cylinder, waiting patiently for it to open for him then stepping inside. He looked at the chair for a moment before sitting himself down and laying on his back, long legs hanging off the end as it wasn't really large enough for him. Still, it did the job in this case.
He cocked his head to the side a little at the follow-up offer to minimize his pain and the general description of the feeling he would have instead as his body loaded up the new limb. That wasn't technically against the rules, right? It would be alright for him to accept an offer like this? He was pretty sure it was. "That sounds like it would feel really weird, but better than it hurtting. Thank you... For all of this, I mean." He added quickly, realizing that he'd been a bit vague.
"Hm?" He hummed as the mechanic seemed to remember something and he instantly perked up. "Yes, *please!* That sounds wonderful! I don't recall you mentioning a white noise machine, but that does sound like it would help during naptime." He agreed on, already excited for the addition of several things he didn't expect today. "Don't be hard on yourself though... Everyone forgets things sometimes." He added on, not particularly liking the way the other was beating himself up a bit.

Re: In Love with the Sun and Moon
"Humans aren't as quick as you bots can be, so I understand the worry you felt. Honestly, they need a larger security staff in my opinion-- areas five per area. That way there'd be enough to send off without hesitation!!" Odhran huffed again, before shaking off their frustration once more. "It's unfortunate that the child's parents will foot the bill, but if the higher ups try to punish you, I'll give them a piece of my mind. You're an important part of this facility, and it wouldn't be the same without you two." They looked up at the other with kind eyes, which grew bittersweet at the need for assurance. "You're a good boy because you did the right thing in that situation, big guy. I have never seen a more caring caretaker that wasn't related to the kids you watch." The Mechanic gave the other's hand a gentle squeeze, though they wished they could give him a hug instead. Poor guy needed all the praise he could get too, it seemed.
"Blinking is easy-- if they reject even that, I'm gonna start pushing limits. They know damn well they can't get rid of me easily!! They'd need to hire three people to make up for just me, for crying out loud!! And on that, I have backups upon backups on all of you guys!! That way if things go south, I can just remake you all elsewhere and put your memories since the last save inside, like nothing had happened!!" Clearly, they've been preparing for a while, for any unseen tragedy that may happen. "I want to at least help every one of you live to the fullest, even if it takes me a few years or more to make it happen. Won't be the Pizza Plex, but I'll do everything I can to make sure you're all happy and healthy!! Quality of life!!" They grinned as they marched onward, eager to get the Twins patched up. "They're absolutely cruel-- I understand why Moon would be impatient-- even if you have 'nap time' lighting added on, it still wouldn't be enough time to make it even for you both to be out with the kids!! I don't recall if Moon has said it outright, but I have a feeling he feels left out, you know?" The human frowned then, "It's not fair at all. You can't have the Sun without a Moon, after all. Besides-- sometimes you can see the moon still in the sky in the morning because the Sun rose faster than the Moon could set on the horizon!! And another argument for you two to be able to have two bodies: there would be no impatience in Moon if he was able to run the nap and decompression rooms!! Sometimes kids will get overwhelmed and need time to relax in a place with toned down sensory imput, you know? I would have loved that growing up. Alas, psychology wasn't as advanced as it is today. I just have to make sure if I'm going to some place that's loud outside of my terms, that I have a handler of sorts so they can help me get grounded if my mental processing tanks. I couldn't answer the simple question of 'where do you want to eat' while at a drag show with a friend. Luckily the hallways were fairly muted and dim, so I was able to focus again." They sighed sadly, clearly missing that friend.
"You're welcome!! You're already sore as is!! No need to force three more shifts before you get back, you know?" They smiled gently, and once the other was comfortable, and the door behind them was closed, the human began to work. "It's not a problem at all!! If I can make check ups and repairs less stressful and painful where I can, I will!! It's cruel to make you hurt unnecessarily if I can avoid it!!" They soon came over with an odd, chunky remote that bore enough cables for the ports in the Twins' shoulder, and carefully plugged them in. "Alright, you'll feel the buzzing in three, two, one...." And with a press of the button, the animatronic should feel the sensation of a sleeping limb, faintly annoying and weird, but indeed preferable to pain. "Is this okay? If you don't like it, I can try bypassing the pain sensor in that area just long enough to fix you up without it being logged in the system?" They offered, their eyes kind as they looked at Eclipse. Though, they smiled a bit more sheepishly when softly called out for beating themselves over a simple thing. "B-bad habit, I know.... It can be harder to be nice to yourself, even if it comes easily for others." Odhran admitted, before opening the locker where they had what looked like a small music box, as well as a memory card. "This will go in your chest cavity near the base of your voice boxes-- that way the music and white noise plays a little more subdued, but also, there's an option for a heartbeat if a child that falls asleep easier while being held is ready for a nap!! I even added a faint thumping tactile feedback to it to make it a little more realistic, too!!" They smiled bright, before turning it on in test-mode, and selected the heartbeat option, then set it in Eclipse's good hand so he could hear and feel it beat. "Isn't that neat?? Plus, hopefully until we can get your emoting situation fixed, hopefully kids won't be as wary if they thought you had a heart, just like they do!! Sometimes it's simple fixes that can set little humans at ease!!" The Mechanic smiled warmly, hoping the animatronic would approve. "I-if you don't like it, though, I won't force you to use it, and I can readjust it without the heartbeat if it makes you feel weird!!" They added quickly, not wanting the other to feel obligated to use it if he didn't want to.
