Shouto’s been alone for the longest time, his family had… dispersed as time went on.
The manor, once bustling with life, with parties once a month, with maids and butlers and guests alike all wandering, chatting or working. His father used to take up the main office, the library was once lit up and the books were not so covered in webs. The curtains, having used to be open, were shut. Keeping the world and the sunlight out.
It was… saddening. Shouto remembers ground up here, with his siblings, with his father and mother. Then… things went downhill.
Arguments, old traditions, personalities clashing and terrible decisions of the Patriarch caused the family to fall apart and, in the end, Shouto was the only one left in the manor to take care of. One day, he’d like to clean it up, fill it with life, maybe sell it to a large family that would use it better than he did, but for right now… he would wander the halls. Visit the library, walk through the dead and dying garden his mother and sister once tended to.
His meals would become nightly strolls through the nearby village to find stray animals, or people he happened to find alone. He’d rather not hurt anyone… but sometimes his hunger would take control over him more than he’d like to admit.
There was a reason no one ever stepped close to the manor, far from the village and in the thick forest.
It’s why, when he was going to head out on a walk after dusk had made the sky dark and the stars start peeking through the clouds, he’s surprised to find a small, blond… werewolf? His head couldn’t help but tilt at the sleeping little boy, and he couldn't help but find the other adorable, with his little ears and the way his tail was curled around himself for warmth. He’d tried to get in, did he? Or had he tried to knock? If so, Shouto definitely wouldn’t have heard it, not from his own bedchambers, and certainly not in the comfortable coffin he slept in during the day.
Quietly, setting his lantern aside, the vampire kneels down and gingerly picks up the pup in his arms, noting how absolutely exhausted the poor thing looked. He had a strong heartbeat, though, so Shouto takes the pup into one of the bedrooms that had long been abandoned. Candles light as he enters and small black shadows scurry away into crevices. He walks over to the bed and lays the pup down, pulling a blanket over him.
Looks like he’ll have to help this pup return to his family if he could help it, but for now, he’ll have to gather food for him.
So, off the Vampire goes after leaving a glass of water. He’ll return before sunrise at the very least. He doubts such a small pup could do much harm while he was gone.
A new friend - Vampire Todo and Werewolf pup Bakugo
Re: A new friend - Vampire Todo and Werewolf pup Bakugo
Katsuki's garnet orbs blinked open twice, a yawn that accentuated his small but prominent canines and a rather large stretch for such a little wolf came next. He rubbed one eye sleepily before fully taking in the atmosphere which had him jumping to all fours in seconds, a defensive position that made him look more like a scared cat than a terrifying werewolf. Once the little wolf was convinced there was no threat in his immediate vicinity he decided to explore.
The last thing he remembered was falling asleep at the door of a large house he stumbled upon while trying to escape the rain after his camp was destroyed by local farmers that accused the wolf boy of stealing their crops. Why would he, a fierce carnivore, steal vegetables? Tch. An insult to the great Katsuki Bakugou. Now he was walking barefoot through the rather intimidating halls of said house with no recollection of how he even got inside. Katsuki had never seen a place so big, so tall, with so much stuff, granted he never actually stepped inside a human's house before, but still. He had been on his own since he could remember, his earliest memories being that of him running from poachers wanting to skin him alive to make a fur coat. Humans tended to attack him on sight which made the boy reluctant to even approach them by choice, so to end up in one of their homes was a bit ironic.
Except... this place didn't smell too much like a human. The tart musk that humans tended to secrete was no where to be found in this home, instead there was a strong smell of peppermint and teak, a rather comforting smell to the orphan. He decided that before he left this mysterious house, he would find where the delicious smell was coming from, perhaps someone baked goodies that were left forgotten, a nice little treat for a good little wolf.
As Katsuki approached a large double door nestled in a corner all to itself the scent became so strong it began to overwhelm his senses, his head became dizzy and his heart rate quickened. Barging into the room like he owned the place, the wolf was greeted by a large coffin and various other furniture and decorations, but what Katsuki noticed most was a white button down shirt that was dropped neatly over an extravagant looking armchair. He immediately ran for it, grabbing it off the chair a bit too rough and tearing a small hole in the sleeve. No matter, this was Katsuki's shirt now and he didn't much care if it was full of holes. Putting the shirt on, leaving it unbuttoned so it looked more like a very large robe than a shirt, Katsuki ran about the house to finish exploring.
He noted that the kitchen was empty, weird, what kind of human didn't keep food? The rest of the house dusty and unused, as if no one had lived here for quite some time. Katsuki made himself at home, rummaging through the books, leaving drawers open after he was done scavenging for anything good inside, and lastly, before he left, he took one last trip to the big room he had found his new article of clothing from. There were jewels and valuables all about, but nothing the little wolf wanted, no he just wanted some more things that smelled so good, so much like home.
After scavenging through the dressers, Katsuki had decided on another button down shirt and a strange looking scarf, that's when his attention was focused on the coffin in the middle of the room. Something he hadn't really cared to investigate before, but he might as well before he never sees this place again, right? With all the strength in his little core, he pushed the top of the coffin to the floor, flinching at the loud thud it produced that hurt his ears, and climbed inside. He was overwhelmed with the scent of peppermint and teak that had made his head swim. Against his better judgment, in the haze of bliss, he curled up with his new found cloth treasures and drifted off to sleep.
