Summer Lovin', Havin' a Splash [Fem!Mer!Kiri x Baku]

Post by NicTheDjinn »

Eijiro Kirishima was a unique girl. First thing she noticed was strange about her was the fact that she loved the ocean. A lot. A lot more than the other kids on the island. It was a small island off the mainland of Japan, usually used for families on vacation. Eijiro has been a native to the island for as long as she could remember, often walking around barefoot since the island was so clean, and she didn't have to worry about injuring herself. She new every inch of the place, knew the best spots to hide from bullies, the best rocks to climb on, the best tidepools to find the prettiest creatures. She loved her island, having been able to go on her own since she was five, following around the other girls around her age.

One summer, she remembered seeing a new girl at the beach with her mom and dad. The other girls had chosen to ignore her, but Eijiro was too curious, and she knew what it was like to be outcast from a group since the other girls sometimes ignored her on purpose (5 year old's were MEAN sometimes). She couldn't help when she went up with a smile, her black hair falling freely with a red hairclip holding her bangs from her eyes, her hand outstretched toward the blond. 'Wanna go build a sandcastle with me?' she'd asked, only for the other girl look at her somewhat surprised, before hesitantly agreeing. She had made a friend! Or, at least she had hoped she did, which seemed true after the girl, who she found out was named Katsuki Bakugo, came back to visit her every summer until they were around ten. That's when Katsuki didn't return after that.

It had left Eijiro pretty heartbroken, and neither of them had thought to give one another an address or email to write to, having said 'See you next summer!'. Eijiro had waited all summer at the beach the next few summers, but when Katsuki never showed up...

It hurt. A lot. She didn't know why it had hurt so much, maybe it was because she would never know if that friend was still alive, if she would be remembered, if they were ever friends to begin with. She had chalked it up to Katsuki being her only friend, and with her gone had made her feel alone and not wanting to deal with summers anymore, not with how hard it was to make more friends at school. She was always deemed too weird, too tomboyish and too rowdy to hang with them. It stung, but at least she knew the reason why she wasn't friends with them. So, for most of middle school and high school, she kept to herself most days, eventually making acquaintances in her classes during high school.

Something weird happened in the beginning, though. When she turned 16, she felt the weird pull toward the ocean. How she would want to go to the beach a lot, go swimming, but something about the weird feeling made her uneasy, and it made her avoid the ocean for a bit. At least until her family went to it for a day. In her swimsuit, she ventured out into the ocean, past the rocks until she felt her arms get tired, and when she glanced back... the shore was pretty far.

She probably should've drowned that day.

Instead, when her head went under water and she inhaled, it didn't kill her. It caused her lungs to burn and her throat to itch, making her scratch until gills split her skin, her legs fusing together and making her sink until the newly formed tail was formed. She stared at it for the longest time, still panting from the change. What in the hell? Touching it confirmed it was real, though she didn't understand. What did this mean? Was anyone else in her family like this? Upon showing them, somewhat excited to learn more of her heritage, she's instead met with the news that she was adopted, that she had been found on the beach, wrapped in sea-weed as a swaddle, crying her eyes out. Her heart sunk, so was she never going to learn who her parents were? She had so many questions, each one written down in a journal and tucked away for when she had the chance, but it seemed each time she went exploring the ocean after school, she couldn't find any trace of others like her. She found wrecks of planes and ships, explored coral reefs and the such, but never anyone else swimming like her.

It's been a few years, now. Kirishima was working at the beach as a life guard and occasional waitress at a bar on the boardwalk, often finding herself miserable as she served unruly customers or saved kids from drowning, only to be yelled at by the parents. But, living on her own isn't cheap, and at 21 years old, she was looking to eventually move to the mainland.

With a sigh, she fixes her hair, pulling it back and making sure no red strands were loose and sticking out against the black undercut, brushing dust off her shirt before washing her hands and making her way out of the restroom, grabbing her pen and paper and making her way to a table a girl had just sat at, setting the menu down. "Hi! Welcome to the--" She stops, voice catching in her throat as she recognizes the woman, eyes widening.

".... Bakugo?" She asked quietly, face flushing. Whoa.. when did she get so hot?

Katsuki Bakugou… didn't have a lot of friends. The other girls, and even boys thought she was mean, when in reality, she was five, and didn't know how to process other people's feelings quite yet. Not like she cared though. Friends were overrated. At least, that's what she thought until her parents took her on vacation for the first time when she was five. It was a small island right off of the mainland that she'd never been to, but was excited to go to nonetheless. When they got there and she went to try and make a few friends though, once again, the little blonde was turned away and harshly ignored.

Until a girl with black hair and the nicest smile came up to her and invited her to play, that is. Hesitantly, she agreed, brushing her own wild blonde hair from her curious face. They played every day that Bakugou was there on vacation, and admittedly, she cried a little bit when she had to leave her only friend every year. Though, when Katsuki turned ten, her parents never took her back to the island. They ended up working every summer, leaving the family no time to go on vacation anymore, and with no email or address to write to, Katsuki was left missing her friend with no way to let her know.

She went through school, making a few friends here and there, but never any as close as she'd been with Kirishima. Katsuki thought about her sometimes, wondering what she might be up to, how her childhood friend was doing after all these years. Soon enough graduation happened, she got a job, and went about her life. It wasn't until she moved out of her parents house and found a bunch of old photos and unsent letters that she decided to go back to the island, determined to find her friend and reconnect after all this time.

When Katsuki set her mind to something, she damn sure made sure that she did it. In this case, the girl found a vacation house on the island and within the week she was there, renting a place for the time she'd be there. She had plenty of money saved up, so staying for a while wouldn't be much of a problem. After a few days there, she found herself at a table at a bar, waiting for someone to come take her damn order.

Red eyes looked up from her menu at the sound of someone approaching, most likely the waitress, but instead of asking for her order, she somehow knew her name "Do I know you?" The blonde asked, not recognizing the girl in the slightest.

"Right, you probably remember me different--" Honestly, she had expected to be wrong. Bakugo looked amazing, she looked so pretty and just... wow. She exhales a nervous little laugh, shifting weight onto her other foot. "It's Kirishima. Eijiro Kirishima. I ah, started dyeing my hair a few years back." She waves her hand dismissively before she's glancing about the bar. It wasn't too busy right now, so she immediately goes to sit across from Katsuki, smiling brightly. Setting her pad and pen down, she reaches across and takes her hands.

"I've missed you so much! I kept waiting for you to come back, but when you didn't.. I got worried. Thought I did something wrong." She squeezes the blonde's hands gently, face flushing a small bit as her grin calms down into a gentle smile. "It's great, seeing you again, you look.. Amazing." She pulled her hands back and instead crossed her arms on the surface of the table.

"I was actually thinking about visiting the mainland to try and find you, but it's way too big and while I know which city you were from, it probably would've still been way too tough. I still get lost sometimes here." She laughs softly. Honestly, seeing Katsuki in front of her again felt.. nice. She wondered why she was here, why she'd decided to come back. Then, the idea of showing her what she found out had her wondering if it would be a good idea. Ah, you know what? She trusted Katsuki. Has since they were friends when they were younger. She grins and stands, grabbing the pad of paper and pen and making her way toward the bartender.

"Hey! I quit. See ya 'roud." She tugs off the small apron around her waist and drops it onto the counter as well. A quick trip to the back and she's got her bag, and she's hurrying back over to Katsuki, grabbing her hand. "C'mon, I got something I wanna show you. Like, right now." She's tugging gently. "I promise it's nothing bad!"

"Eijiro? Holy shit. You look good as a red head! Didn't think I'd find your ass this soon into this trip, but here I am." She smiled some at the other woman, having to take a moment to realize how fucking hot Eijiro had gotten since the last time she saw her. It was a miracle that they just ran into each other like this, in some random bar on the island. She tried to fight the small flush that came to her cheeks when Kirishima took her hands, looking to their place on the table before back to her friend.

"Yeah, my parents got busy and never brought me back. I was pissed that we didn't go anymore, mostly because I didn't know your address or any of that stuff to write you and let you know." She couldn't help but smile at the squeeze to her hands, happy to see her friend, and secret childhood crush, again. "So do you, since when the hell did you get hot? Come on there's no way you're not seeing someone when you look like that." She complimented, crossing her own arms on the table once her hands were released.

"Don't feel bad, I get lost walking home from work on the mainland sometimes. It's a big place, way bigger than it is here." She leaned back in her seat some, moving some hair from her face. "I actually came here to find you. I found a shit ton of letters and shit I wanted to send you but couldn't, so I figured I'd just come find you instead." Katsuki shrugged, watching as Kirishima stood up, walking to the bar.

Her eyes widened as she heard Kirishima quit, taking a minute to process what the hell happened just then. The girl stood and grabbed her stuff when the other came back, furrowing her brows in slight confusion. "Wait- did you just quit your fucking job? What do you wanna show me that means quitting your job Eijiro, what the hell?" She asked, mostly out of disbelief at what had happened.

Hearing the compliments on her hair from the other girl had her heart pounding, and she can't help the way her chest grows warm. Now that she thought about it, she had always been eager to see Katsuki smile or impress her, and now she's realizing she liked the girl a lot more than she thought she did. The comment on there being no way she isn't seeing anyone has her laughing quietly, face flushing further. "Ah.. no, no dates or anyone." She had quietly admitted.

But now, now, she could spend her time with Katsuki, and seeing her freak out had her laugh a small bit, shaking her head and pulling her out of the bar.

"The place wasn't all that good anyway, I've had more drinks and food thrown at me, I've dealt with people getting too drunk and touching me.. It just isn't good. I have another job anyway so it's not that much of a loss." She assured, her hand firmly in Katsuki's as she leads her into the warm sun, heading off the boardwalk district and down toward the beach. "See, there's this thing that happened when I turned sixteen. Turns out I was adopted, well, abandoned on the beach and found and taken in. Not much to really talk about, I don't know if I have any living relatives or not but anyway--" She releases Katsuki's hand so she can toe off her shoes before reaching the sand, picking them up.

"Just follow me, Bakugo, it'll be worth it." She glanced over her shoulder with a wide smile before booking it across the warm sand, snickering quietly to herself. She just wanted to get away from everyone else as soon as possible, though part of her wondered how she would react. Would it be good? Would she freak out and not want to see her again? She doesn't know, but what she does know is that she knew Katsuki would be able to keep a secret. Or.. at least she hoped she would.

Hearing the confirmation that, no, Kirishima wasn't dating anyone, almost made her heart skip a beat, her cheeks turning pink without her even realizing. Oh come on Katsuki, you're not this soft with other people back home, why is Kirishima the exception? Well, it could be because she's had a crush on her since forever, but who knows. She'd never found herself trying to impress her when they were kids, but now it felt almost oddly different. The blonde wanted to make the redhead like her in the same way, she just didn't know how.

"Well shit, in that case I'm glad you got outta there. Fuck all that, I would've quit the first time some asshole threw food at me. Woulda been a shit show, lemme tell you." She nodded upon hearing that Kirishima had another source of income, glad she just didn't quit and lose all of her hard earned money. She became even more confused though as Kirishima started explaining, shaking her head at all the information just dropped on her. "Hold on, this is a lot of information to process, you gotta slow the hell down. You got abandoned on the beach and it's not much to talk about?"

"Better be with how weird you're being." She was honestly half expecting some sort of ship wreck or even for her to be shown that the shitty little clubhouse they made when they were kids was still there. Which it probably wasn't anymore to be honest, not after all this time. But what Kirishima had planned to show her, Bakugou was less than prepared for.

"Sometimes they were just drunk and got too agitated, they were usually easy to calm down." Eijiro didn't mind when customers got too rowdy, she was always able to handle confrontation like that, especially after seeing people get bullied in school and not being strong enough to do something about it. She always regretted not doing more to make those around her more happy, which was why she tried so hard to do so now, even if most days it was incredibly difficult with the amount of entitled people on the island. As small as it was, there were a lot of tourists that loved to take advantage of the clean beaches and unique shopping district.

"I mean, yeah. There's not much I can think of to talk about on the topic, mostly because I don't know if I have any living relatives and no one on the island knows who could've put me there. Not that my family were natives of the island anyway but I'll explain that soon." She assured, and it doesn't take long to climb over some large rocks to get to a more secluded part of the beach full of tidepools and hiding nooks as well as some old abandoned row-boats, long rotted and covered in moss and algae from the water.

She drops her shoes and bag onto a dry rock, pulling her shirt off. Underneath was a simple black sports bra, and a belly-button piercing glints in the sun. She sets her shirt down and pushes down her shorts, stepping out of them and dropping them on top of her shirt. The underwear she wore were simple red panties with tiny, black, cartoonish sharks on them. "C'mon, join me in the water." She glances over her shoulder as she heads for the tide. "That's where I have to show you the thing."

"Still. Sorry you had to put up with that bullshit." She wasn't sure why she was apologizing outside of the fact that she did indeed care one hell of a lot about the other. Bakugou herself would have simply exploded on anyone that got too out of line with her, with her temper and all. Especially the people that decided to get too handsy with Eijiro, which was unacceptable in itself. Katsuki herself was easily a very abrasive person, but because of their history, she found it easy to be nice and relax around her old friend.

"That sucks though. I couldn't imagine never finding out about that til I was sixteen. But hey your adoptive parents seemed cool anyway. My parents always liked hanging out with them while we played, said they were okay people. Maybe it's a lil shitty that they didn't tell you until you were older, but hey, not too terrible I guess?" She tried to make the situation seem better for some reason, but it clearly didn't seem to bother Kirishima that much. Ah the effects of having a shit ton of info dropped on her all at once, it's fine.

Only a few moments after they arrived at the spot Kirishima was leading them to, the redhead was stripped down to her sports bra and underwear, leaving Bakugou blushing bright red. Oh god, she was hotter than she thought. It made it very surprising that Kirishima was single with a body like that, but she quickly averted her eyes, stripping down to her own black sports bra and matching underwear. "Alright alright, I'm coming." Katsuki said as she joined Eijiro, feeling the warm waves on her feet as she got closer to the tide.

Eijiro either didn't care about the blush Katsuki sported, or she didn't notice it, because when she sees the other girl stripping down, she looks back toward the ocean and ventures out further until she's waist-deep. From there, she dives further out. Since her first time, it's gotten a lot easier to shift, it didn't burn her lungs like it did before and instead just made a slight discomfort appear before it faded. Further out, underneath the water still, she tugs off her underwear before inhaling a good lung-full of the salty sea-water, feeling the gills split at her neck and provide smoother breathing. Feeling her legs fuse together always felt like heavy lead at first, making it uncomfortable and making her sink a little further down, but after a moment she was able to move and stretch.

"Oh man, she's gonna freak." She mutters, turning her head toward the feet she sees off in the distance, and grins, giving a strong flick of the tail up so she can tread water. She was honestly scared still, scared that Katsuki might change her mind about being her friend or anything after this, but she decides there's no way of knowing until she showed her.

So, she waits until Katsuki is further out before she dips back under the water and swims closer to her, only to grab her ankles and tug her underneath the surface of the water, unable to help the excited giggling, hands coming up to carefully take Katsuki's hands so she didn't freak out too much.

She looks down to the bright red, long tail that replaced her legs, with the fins having traces of black and billowing out. The fins grew a lot since she'd first changed, and she liked to think she didn't look half bad. Too bad she didn't know if anyone else like her existed. Glancing back to Katsuki, she brings one of the other girl's hands to gently touch the glittering scales, showing her that, yes, it was completely real. Now for the reaction...

Well, Bakugou was definitely glad that the other girl hadn't seen her blush, mostly to save the blonde some embarrassment here. She hurried to strip down to her underwear to attempt to catch up with Eijiro, but by the time she had made it to the tide, the redhead was already wading out to waist deep water. Now, Bakugou had never been much of a swimmer, but she did remember how good Kirishima had always been at it. Which is why it didn't surprise her when the other went under, leaving Bakugou to wade out near where Kirishima had went under.

"Alright, I know you didn't just bring my ass out here to disappear on me Kirishima." She spoke out loudly, glancing around to see where the fuck her friend had gone. "This isn't fucking fun- shit!" She yelled as she was suddenly pulled under by something, eyes shut tight as she was pulled underneath the water.

Her hands were grabbed by someone as she opened her eyes, the red hues widening at what exactly she saw in front of her. Kirishima was a- no. No fucking way. This was a joke, right? She couldn't help but open her mouth, forgetting for a brief moment that she wasn't above the water, purely shocked by what she was being shown.

Touching Kirishima's tail took whatever words she had in her mind that she wanted to say, running her fingers over the scales in genuine wonder. She noticed Kirishima's attention being on her as Bakugou touched her tail, looking back up to the redhead before she was having to swim back up to the surface for air.

The blonde coughed a few times before she was able to catch her breath, running a hand through her hair as she took a second to process what the fuck just happened. She was dreaming, she had to be, there was no way this was real. "What...the fuck was that shit.." Bakugou exhaled, looking back in the water for Kirishima to come up.
