My Character: Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom (trans male)
Fandoms: Danny Phantom/My Hero Academia
Alternate Universe/Prompt: Danny stopped aging at one point and realized he couldn’t keep living his life like normal. Eventually people would realize he wasn’t aging and become suspicious, so he just moved into the Ghost Zone more full time, watched everyone he knew grow old and die, and then ignored the living world completely while taking his place as king of the Ghost Zone.
Now, hundreds of years in the future, Clockwork tells him the humans are different and will accept him and when he goes where the other tells him to, he happens upon a villain battle with y/c being one of the heroes involved in the fight.
What I want here is romance! Y/c has to show Danny the ropes and rules of their world, and Danny’s going to be a loophole in and of itself. He’s dead, what law can hold him? He’s still half alive but even his records as a human have him marked as deceased so they really have nothing on him but that also means he isn’t protected under the law either and that can be a complication.
I love plot and world building and have tons of headcanons, so connect with your own ideas, any and all, and let’s see what we can come up with together!!!!

Danny had been through more in twenty years of half-life than most could say they’d gone through in both life and death. Centuries worth of hardships packed together tightly in little more than six years, most of which happened at the same time as he’d been in high school.
Perhaps he should have known better than to believe that he’d come out of it unscathed. That he’d somehow seen it all and it couldn’t possibly get worse. And yet, it did get worse.
After seeing the evil future version of himself, Danny had never put a thought towards aging. Obviously, even if it had been an evil future, he would age just like any other. But apparently he’d been wrong. By the time his friends graduated they’d passed him in height and physical development. His parents called him a late bloomer but he knew better because by then he should have been at least a foot taller. It was only then he really processed that his evil older self had aged in a specific way he didn’t think was actually possible for him.
Danny had made his way into the Ghost Zone to discuss it with Clockwork, and the time keeper confirmed a fear he’d been avoiding the thought of for the last few years. Danny was a true Halfa, one who was exceptionally powerful and would only age as much as his core saw fit, and only look the way his core decided he should. That was why his older self had looked the way he did. His core was jaded, older. Contaminated. It made him look more closely like Vlad than either of his parents.
Now that Danny wasn’t evil and had become even more powerful than that version of himself had, he wouldn’t age the same as any human around him. Possibly not at all. Clockwork had been vague when he’d asked if he ever would and that usually meant no.
It meant Danny had less time to be with his family than he once thought. Before, he thought he could live out his entire life as the balance between worlds. Grow old and die like any other human before joining the Ghost Zone full time and becoming their proper king, like they all believed him to be. But now it was clear that his humanity was more closely influenced by his ghost half than he thought and it was only a matter of time before his youth raised the alarm for everyone around him that wasn’t in the know.
And so, Danny Fenton mysteriously disappeared. Only really calling his family and friends. Danny Phantom was seen more frequently around Amity, the Fentons abandoned whatever rivalry they had with the white haired ghost, and all was the same as it always had been with one less face in their city. Everyone Danny knew grew old and died, some appearing in the ghost zone with no recollection of their life, and the loneliness sank in. Danny frequented the living world less and less, until he took up the mantle of King of the Dead and ruled the Zone with a surprisingly understanding but firm approach that had even his oldest enemies coming around to him as their leader.
It took him a few hundred years to even look like an adult, finally looking like a twenty year old version of himself with longer hair, a crown on his head and the armor he’d been outfitted with by the more royal ghosts. He looked nothing like his evil self, save for his pointed ears and fangs. Danny was grateful for it. He didn’t need a reminder of how much worse it could have all been.
Clockwork had told him the world of the living changed while he was gone. Humans were different, and they would understand Danny more than anyone could in his time. It sounded too good to be true, but Clockwork had never truly mislead him before. When the time keeper suggested he leave the zone, a gentle nudge compared to his past demands and advice, Danny did with little question.
He hadn’t known what to expect when he opened a portal in the exact coordinates Clockwork had given him in Japan, but a fight that looked like a movie was not it. They weren’t ghosts and that was the strangest part for him. There was a big, hulking monster of a man throwing cars and civilians around. Stranger still were the super powered people that were trying to fight back, all out in the open, with cops gathered round to help as well.
It wasn’t anything like the world he knew.
When Danny fought bad guys, he was always alone, or dodging humans when they decided he was bad too even when he’d proven time and time again he was there to help. Never had he seen authorities join in and help, it was odd. His first step into the human world was met with violence, but not the kind he’d expected.
A car flew his way and Danny easily phased through it, catching the people inside and turning them intangible all in one to prevent what would no doubt be a tragedy. Arms full of strange looking humans that looked at him with unflinching gratitude, like it wasn’t odd at all a ghost had just saved, Danny decided this was definitely not at all like how it had been so long ago.
He set the people down, and they were quick to run off to safety in the direction the police seemed to be herding them and Danny turned to look around. Danny let his armor and crown fade away, leaving behind the improved design of his jumpsuit, a slow smile coming to his face. This? This was a world he could live in.
“Alright. Seems like I’m back.” He flew forward just in time to catch a hero that was blasted in his direction. Inwardly, he thanked his decades of boredom for making him learn a ridiculous amount of languages from the other ghosts, Japanese being one of the ones that stuck best. “You should probably buy me dinner before coming onto me like this.” Danny teased in only mildly stunted Japanese, placing the hero on the ground.
