Like a Moth to a Nuclear Burst (BKDK GODTHRA)

Izuku doesn't know when or why he first woke up in this wild, beautifully chaotic world, but he knew instinctually what he was meant to be: a protector. At first, it started as minimizing natural disaster damage to fragile habitats, as well as nipping invasive populations in the bud. But, eventually, odd, mostly hairless relatives of the apes came into the world not long after he had, and again, instinct drove him to do his best to protect them. "Humans" as they were called, were curious creatures, seemingly eager to learn, and fast to populate if given room to flourish.

At first, Izuku was simply protecting and helping them out of duty, but soon he came to adore the small creatures as they in turn showed their gratitude in sweet but also odd ways. They would try to offer portions of their harvests to him, attempt to make him a place in a nearby clearing to rest (nearby being a day's travel on foot for them, but a few steps for the moth-kaiju), but he in his grace and humility only took the resting spot, knowing how fickle crops can be. Sure, his wing-dust assured a bountiful yield regardless of rain or soil health, but at the time, even he didn't know that crop rotation was imperative for farming.

Several generations began to revere him as their local nature God, calling him "Mothra" or "Mosura" in their tongues, and the feeling of being revered and needed genuinely certainly brought him a warming glow, a glow so bright that on moonless nights, his wings could still shine as brightly as a pregnant full moon. A plus to being so esteemed was the fact that, for the longest time, he didn't have to worry about laying another egg, should he suffer a mortal wound, purposeful or not. Even the land itself seemed to embrace his presence, and make his job as protector easier, for his charges' sake.

However, extended periods of prosperity and growth always eventually falls apart in catastrophic and most times brutal ways, much to Izuku's despair. It began when the weather grew a bit more wet, humid, as the storms on the sea seemed to grow more violent with each passing Moon, only for the untinkable to happen.

Another kaiju emerged from the depths of the ocean, large, armored, and exuding an energy that made the land below him wilt and cry out in agony, it's cries rousng Izuku from his formerly peaceful slumber, his instincts reawakening after such a long period of peace. Alas, the invading kaiju was a good two heads taller than him, and while he himself could handle the energy that poisoned the very earth, he knew that if the great lizard got too close to the humans, they would surely die even if they weren't intentionally harmed.

Naturally, Izuku had tried to defend his colony, at first trying to plead for the other to leave and never come back, tried to tell him he made the land cry from the energy he gave off, only to try to resort to violence proper. Alas, it wasn't long before it became obvious how pathetically outclassed the moth-kaiju was-- between his size and not being built for extended battles after generations of growing soft caring for his humans, it wasn't long until he had been pinned by the other, dirt and plant debris clinging to every fluffy and overly damp spot on his aching and tired body, face down in the very earth that seemed to cry louder, pleading for him to get up, get up and win....

Unfortunately, he won't win this battle.
