Love is Love (Even when it comes to animatronics): FNAF SB Sun/Moon x OC Nox

Nox sighed in annoyance, crossing his arms over his chest as he plopped down on the couch after dinner. His aunt made meat loaf that night, one of Nox’s favorite meals, in preparation for ‘the talk’. It was Nox’s 19th birthday which would be very exciting to most other teens his age but Nox seemed to lack the concept of excitement. Everything was drab, everything was irritating, everything was pointless. And this talk with his aunt was no different, he was being ‘encouraged’, which really meant forced, to get a job. After graduating high school last year Nox spent most of his time working on his art, with no intentions of selling or displaying it, just.. coping he supposed. But now his aunt believed it was time for him to grow up and become more responsible, and she was right. He was 19 now, a whole adult. He signed again, shrinking deeper into his oversized hoodie. Working was not appealing at all regardless of the reasoning but… this did mean that he would be able to afford top surgery soon and that small fact elicited happiness and euphoria.

His aunt had assured him that working for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaplex wouldn’t be so bad, he would work overnight, be alone most of the time, and be compensated fairly… not to mention the health care benefits were very trans health friendly which even in these times was difficult to find. So, fine, he would apply for the job and see how it went.

Day one. Day fucking one and Nox was already done with this. First of all he had to wear the most uncomfortable polo shirt which he will not be doing again, no one is even here this late at night so the boy figured he can dress however he wants. What are they gonna do? Fire him? He barely wanted to be here anyway. Secondly he was expected to push around this heavy cleaning cart and pick up around the place when there were cleaning bots all over! What was even the point of having a select few human over night cleaners when there were more robots than he could count? He shook his head, sighing while pushing the stupid cart all the way across to the Daycare. Oh, a third thing for him to complain about, he was in charge of cleaning the Daycare! The DAYCARE! That place must be a mess! Kids are disgusting!

He entered the Daycare and immediately his jaw dropped at how huge this place was. Heart rate picking up slightly at the joyful memories of being a kid himself, he decided to abandon his cart and go exploring. Removing his black high-top converse was the first step, second step was rescuing his switch from the bag he kept on his cleaning cart, and third was sinking waaaaay deep into the ball pit to where only his head was above rainbow plastic ball water. After settling in he turned his switch on to hunt down a few Pichu’s on the clock. “Working isn’t so bad I guess.” He chuckled to himself lightly but unbeknownst to him the young man wasn’t alone.

It had been a very, very long day in the Daycare. There had been almost thirty children-- Sun was grateful to Odhran for stepping in in the morning to help get everything ready-- and it was a miracle there weren't any major injuries or lawsuits!! But, while he was an animatronic, he was still exhausted. Children, as cute as they can be, can also be absolute hellions!! A few kept trying to climb him like squirrels!! Far too dangerous for play activity!! There were days where the daycare attendant envied the A.I.-lacking staff bots in the Pizzaplex. They hadn't a thought between their eyes, not a dang worry at all!! But, then again, Sun did enjoy some parts of being aware.... Like emotions, dreams and bonds. He adores the time he spends with kids and certain staff members.... And while it is unpleasant to know negative emotions, he knows that the positive outweigh his desire to be completely numb.

Sun settled into the ballpit once the daycare was closed for the day, having pleasantly sunck to the bottom, oy a single point barely peeking out of the "pool". He took this quiet time to converse with his other half, discussing the day he had, and what Moon planned to do during his short stints of fronting, patrolling the Pizzaplex for any rule breakers, or maybe even mischief. Their conversation came to a pause when Sun heard someone sink into the ball pool, and turn on what he assumed to be a gaming device. He slowly peeked out of the balls to see who was in the pit with him, and was surprised to see a young adult, seemingly a new employee at that. Typically, the humans didn't spend their breaks here-- other than Odhran, of course-- so it was a curious thing. Why would the other choose here? Moon gave Sun an amusing idea, and with some convincing, the lanky animatronic began to "swim" in the ball pit, closer and closer to the human, only stopping and dunking under if the other turned to look his way.

When he was right behind the other, he slowly rose from the balls, his height surely causing a shadow on the others screen as he did so. "HELLO, THERE!! ARE YOU A NEW FRIEND??" He asked in his bright and excited tone, head tilted to show curiosity, while his hand were laced together in a hopeful manner. It's a shame he still has a static face, though-- the Mechanic was working on fixing that problem, though. Soon, he'll be able to emote properly. Soon....

Nox felt a slight of unease as he sat in the ball pit playing Pokemon, a feeling that he was not alone... that he was being watched. But that was impossible, wasn't it? He was alone... who the hell would be hanging out in a Daycare after hours? Some lousy kids? With a quick glance up, eyes sweeping for anything unusual, he shrugged off this feeling and continued to play. Letting out a few "Mother fucker..." when he scared away the Eevee's he was trying to catch, he just wanted a Flareon! Was that too much to ask?

Just as he was about to give up and switch games a huge shadow fell upon him, completely eclipsing his screen. His heart began to race immediately, he turned around swiftly to be greeted by... by... he had no idea what the fuck that thing was. It was HUGE, lanky... so fucking yellow. His mouth hung agape, too afraid to even scream but the weird tall thing broke the damn when it spoke. Without hesitation Nox squealed, yes!! HE SQUEALED. Screaming like the little girl he used to be. He fell back into the balls, splashing around in a failed attempt of back stroke away, his abandoned switch sinking into the bottom of the pit. The creatures face was so unnerving and yet the young adult couldn't get his eyes to blink. Was this the end of his life? Was this really the last thing he was going to lay eyes on?? "WH-WHA-WHAT THE FUCK???"

Sun flinched when the poor human squealed like a small girl-- did this boy's voice crack that bad in his terror? He watched as the human tried to swim backwards through the balls, with hardly any effect. He noted the missing gaming system, and he looked down, seeing where the sound of a game was coming from, and carefully picked it out for the other. "You dropped this, friend!! Sorry for scaring you, I rarely get to participate in mischief like that.... oh, there's a little grey fox on your screen." He noted curiously, before turning the gaming system toward the human, hopefully a sign of truce. There was a shiny eevee on the screen, and, miraculously, the other's player character was crouched and hidden in some tall grass. "Isn't the fox one supposed to be brown?" He asked, tilting his head. "Though, I've seen a lot of different poke.on while working here.... Some of the children like drawing them and telling me about them. Odhran helps me too. They like the little yellow costume one that 'destroys dragons'." He mused quietly. "You know that one, right?" He asked, hoping that he'll seem less scary with these more tame questions.

He just wanted more friends, he didn't want to cause people to get hurt or soil themselves.

With the presentation of his switch and shiny Eevee ready to be captured, along side the giants soothing voice he grumbly admitted to calming down rather quickly. Quicker than he had expected. At least the thing wasn't intending to eat him. Not yet at least. He took his switch back, eyes glued to the giant and a distrusting, annoyed scowl on his face. "Yeah, well.. scare someone else next time..." he huffed, gaining his footing in the ball pit just in time to successfully catch the shiny Eevee. A tiny smile graced his lips, he was so excited! This was the first shiny he had ever caught, and an Eevee! This meant he could evolve it into a shiny Espeon.. a little alien. He looked back up at the giant once the catch was successful and his game was saved. "Odhran..? The mechanic..?" he had heard about Odhran from his auntie, but hadn't met them.. though, he hated to admit they sounded pretty cool. He blinked twice as his brain caught up to the rest of the giants questions. "Uh..a Pichu..?" He was a bit confused, he hadn't been playing for very long so he wasn't exactly sure what little yellow Pokemon the giant was referring to.

With his switch put away he took a few steps back, crossing his arms over his chest in feigned confidence. "No one told me one of you would be in here. It's after midnight, anyway, don't you sleep or something?"

While it was a relief to see the human calm down quite quickly, he wasn't surprised to know that he wasn't forgiven, at least not yet. All the same, he was ever hopeful, watching as the other caught the special eevee, then put the console away. "Sorry, friend.... I don't get to have much fun like that often, but I won't pick on you in the future." The animatronic zoned out for a moment, his unblinking eyes dimming for only a few moments, before they lit back up, "Moon, be nice!! You can't pick on them, either!!" He scolded someone who seemingly wasn't there with the pair in the ball pit. "Ah, yes, Odhran is the Mechanic!! They're so nice, and absolutely wonderful to be around!! Though, they really need to take better care of themselves, starting with getting more than four hours of sleep at a time." The animatronic huffed, crossing his arms as he stooped in a frustrated, thinking posture, head tilted.

He stood up straight, hands clasped as the other began talking about pokemon, only to shake his head softly. "Ah, no, that's the baby of the electric mouse, right? The one I'm talking about is a little shadowy creature wearing a costume!! They are normally yellow, with scribbled on eyes and blush marks, and they have a zig-zag smile!!" He explained, before having an idea. And leaping out of the pit, and heading over to an arts and crafts station, and quickly drew a Mimikyuu, before coming right on back. "This one!! It's so delightful and small!!" He laughed warmly, wondering if the other would agree. Though, at the other's question about him sleeping or not, he wilted, and he rubbed at the narrow bars that made up his neck nervously. "We-- I don't sleep, not unless I'm going into a deep repair, or an endo transfer, like I would be soon." He responded, a nervous, crackle chuckle leaving him. "So, I'm 'awake' almost all the time." He answered, before looking to the cart. "So you're the new janitor for the Daycare?" He asked, soon crouching down to be eye level, wondering if his stature was causing much unnecessary stress for the other. "What's your name? I'm Sundrop!! But I also go by Sunny, Sun, and Sol!" He introduced himself, offering a rather large hand, the pads of his fingertips and palm bearing what looked like softer, squishy silicone, almost akin to animal paws.

Nox furrowed his eyebrows and frowned when it seemed like the giant was listening..? Communicating with someone, something that wasn't there. He waved his hand in the air dismissively. "If you want to pay your tricks, fine. But this just means you're not safe from /my/ tricks." He grinned up at the other, a devilish gleam to his dark eyes. Nox couldn't help but suck his teeth, tossing a red ball up in the air and catching it flawlessly a few times. "What are you their mom?"

As if by instinct, Nox backed up, raising his arms slightly as if he intended to protect himself from the giant. He didn't mean to be so on edge, but the sunshine bastard moved so quickly it was unnerving in a way--something Nox would definitely get used to. He calmed by the time the other returned, holding a picture of a Mimikyuu. "Oh, yeah, that little cutie. That's Odhran's favorite? When Pokemon like Zekrom exist?" He couldn't help but grin, he would never admit that Ditto happened to be his favorite. Maybe he and Odhran weren't so different. Nox's eyes narrowed, his lips in a pouty scowl, "/We/? Who the hell is we? You referenced someone else earlier too and I let it slide.. you seeing shit or something?"

Nox inched closer to the other as he crouched down, trying to appear less threatening Nox imagined.. and still, he was huge. Nox crossed his arms over his chest trying to appear bigger than he was... up until Sunny stretched his rather large hand out and reminded the young adult how small he really was... how weak. How vulnerable. Nevertheless Nox was no wimp and wasn't about to back down, so he did the polite thing and grabbed the others hand, giving him a strong shake. Boy did those pads feel... nice. Very nice. Almost like giant cat beans.. Nox absentmindedly rubbed the pads of Sun's giant hand as he introduced himself, his eyes never leaving the other. "Nox."

Sun laughed warmly at the playful threat, and he nodded in response. "Of course!! It's only fun and fair if you get to have a little payback!!" He paused again, before giving a curt shake of his head 'no', "I'm sure they'll follow the rules, plus we'll make sure the lights don't go out until our upgrades are done." There's he went again, speaking to some unknown entity. "No, but I am a concerned friend and.... companion, per se. Humans can be so terribly fragile and more importantly irreplaceable once you're bonded together. It's bad enough that we have to hound them to not survive off of cereal bars and Monsters. We even have the Glamrocks helping out!!" He lamented, rubbing long hands down his unmoving face plate. "The things we do for love, I suppose."

Note taken on Nox's profile: no sudden movements. "Oh, they have many favorites!! This one simply tickles their attraction to creepy and cute, as they say. They also adore Rayquaza, Giratina, Garchomp, and a few others I can't remember the names for off the top of my head!! Though, they do have the moon, normal and ice versions of the silver fox pokemon you caught as plushies!! Though.... the sound choice in the ice one is.... dare I say, a bit inappropriate if you catch my drift." The bot stilled again for a moment, then made to swat at the air at his side, as if someone had (and did) say something lewd in response. "Hush, you!! Enough of that, we don't want to be overheating!!"

Though, when he was caught talking to Moon finally, he let put another nervous chuckle, ducking his head somewhat. "Well, yes and no-- you see, the company had designed us to be the caretakers of the Daycare-- but only gave us one body.... And we agree with Odhran that it was a horrible mistake, as the people that initially built us didn't account for us.... becoming sentient, and subsequently gaining proper personalities, emotions.... Moon is who I talk to at times, and I can see him as if he's at my side, or wherever he wants to be seen. It makes it hard to focus sometimes.... His filter is downright awful, honestly. Says the most foul, lewd and naughty things at the worst times to fluster me!!" He huffed, crossing his arms in a pouty fashion. "But, Odhran has been working on getting us separate bodies so we can truly talk to each other, as well as fix the glitch in Moon's code!! Plus give us emotive faces, and some bonus attachments and new clothes!! We're even going to get a fun silicone 'skin' that's easy to clean, glitter and glows in the dark!! It's going to be so fun!! And before you can be skeptical, they've shown us how far they've gotten already!! .... Though, they're working themselves to the bone for us.... we keep trying to tell them to pace themselves, but they won't listen." Sun wilted a bit, rubbing at his arm. "Poor thing is a bleeding heart, a people pleaser.... but I wish they'd take care of themselves as much as they do all of us here." He sighed, before looking to Nox, and gladly shaking the other's hand in turn. "Hello, Nox!! I hope we can be good friends!! And maybe, just maybe, you could help us get Odhran to relax?"

Nox raised an eyebrow listening to the Giant appear to be speaking to someone or someTHING inside his head. He decided to play it cool he still didn’t trust the walking sun and he didn’t want any actual problems with him. Instead he listening, hands folded over his chest, hip poking out with his right foot forward beneath the plastic balls.
Companion..? Love?? Did this.. this thing just confess to fucking the Mechanic and being in LOVE with them?? Nox’s cheeks tinged a rosy pink.

"Tch. Are you trying to convince me a kids /plush/ moans?" he looked unamused, having a resting bitch face, but he honestly was enjoying this conversation aside from the lingering fear he felt as it seemed the other was talking to..someone else. Someone Nox couldn't see.

"..." at first Nox had nothing to say. What /could/ he say? He was 19, barely passed high school, and is working as a fucking janitor at a massive corporate pizza place.. he was in no place to question Odhran's ability. They sounded intelligent, far more capable than Nox could ever be. The lanky arms crossed over his chest tightened as he held himself, as if he were giving himself a hug. "I don't doubt them. If /you/ can fucking exist, anything is possible." he quickly dropped his arms to his side after watching the giant sulk a bit. This big lug really did adore the Mechanic. It wasn't fair for Nox to feel bad. "Be more assertive then, dummy. You're their.. uh.. 'companion', aren't you? Well act like it then." he huffed.
Once their hands had settled back down after the official greeting, he sighed and rubbed at his eyes. "Fine. I don't even know where Odhran is, how am I supposed to help them?" He wasn't opposed to the idea, he did really want to meet and get to know the Mechanic better, he just wasn't used to being.. needed.

It was interesting, how the small human was so expressive in his posture, yet still be so small. Though, it wasn't a difficult thing, seeing as Sun and Moon, currently, were a little over seven feet tall. All the same, he couldn't help the nervous laugh he let out when the other expressed disbelief. "If you don't believe me, maybe Odhran would show you the ice fox plush they have!! Though, they can be a bit fussy about who sees their 'nest'. I don't blame them, though. It took a while to make it perfect for them." The animatronic sighed, recalling the fun putting it together was. "I wonder if they're sleeping or not right now.... I know it's Monty's turn to check on them, make sure they're in their nest by now.... Or make them get in their nest and tire them out." He chuckled again, before swatting at the air next to him again with a frustrated sound leaving him.

"I try, but they have the cutest, most heart-wrenching pout!! They could get away with murder!!" He whined, his face plate going into his hands once more. "The only way I can make them rest is if I exhaust them in an entertaining fashion!!" He groaned, his internal fans working harder, as he appears to have begun to get too hot as he talked about it. Though, he jolted and hunched for only a moment, long enough for a faintly deeper, rougher tone to croon out, "Odhran is a brat, and they know it. That damn bear spoils them too much--" Sun stood up straighter, before rubbing at his head as if it were sore. "Moon, you know that hurts when you interrupt like that!!" He whined, before focusing on Nox again. When the other had agreed to lend a hand, the daycare attendant cheered brightly, before offering the other his hand, planning to scoop the human up into his arms. "I'll bring ya to them!! They'll either be in Parts and Service, or their room if they're behaving for once!!"
